Episode 33: My Not So Anonymous Yelp Review

The Aftertaste Podcast • Ep. 33

My Not So Anonymous Yelp Review

Producer Joe is off this week, but the chaos didn’t take a day off. After a dead laptop battery wiped out their first attempt, Maddy and Priscilla sat down to re-record every unhinged detail—serving luxury, legal drama, and some serious financial trauma.

Appetizers & Pre-Social Media Nostalgia

Maddy recaps her dad’s 70th birthday weekend in Las Vegas, and a chaotic Buffalo Bills win at Allegiant Stadium, where she unexpectedly had to clean up a bloody fall herself. The conversation quickly turns to early-2000s trends, from $200 fur-lined Abercrombie jackets to LiveStrong bracelets.

Feed the Group Chat: Pastry Runs & Free Lobster

The girls cross off a major local bucket list item with a trip to Sablé Patisserie, raving over salted pecan cookies and fig tarts. Priscilla reviews her dinner at Scott Conant’s Roman God of Fire, while Maddy shares her solo 5:00 PM dinner at Gymkhana Las Vegas—where a generous stranger sent over a massive curry lobster.

Whine & Dine: The North Scottsdale "Wasabi-Gate"

Priscilla details her double-date dining disaster: a green server, $33 watered-down gimlets, $1 soda charges, and a baffling $500 tab topped off by a $10 fee for a tiny dollop of fresh wasabi. Maddy adds her own grievance about restrictive hotel elevator keycards that keep guests trapped on their floors.

Spill the Matcha & Palate Cleanser

The pop culture rundown kicks off with Dancing with the Stars drama following Val Chmerkovskiy’s Dedication Night suspension. Next, the girls unpack the return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Collin Gosselin’s harrowing tell-all memoir, and Carole Radziwill’s rogue NYC parking ticket spree. They wrap with a Halloween edition of "Pick Your Curse," debating damp Airbnb sheets versus haunted mansion room service.

Come hungry, leave fed, taste buddies! 🍸✨

Episode 33
The Aftertaste, I'll have what [music] she's spilling. The podcast for foodies and pop culture girly swirlies. [music] We're here to yap with our mouths full of caviar about what we're eating, obsessing over, and what's living rent-free in our heads long after the plates have cleared. From local bites and unhinged hot takes to [music] friendships, gossip, and internet culture, these are the conversations that linger even after the last bite. Come hungry and ready for dessert. [music] Happy hump day munch day taste buddies. Today we are testing out a new studio. Oh my god, there's a window. I I just noticed a person walking by. It'd be great for us ADHDers. I know. Testing out the new studio. So far we've given it like so many compliments, so we're shocked that that just happened because we found so many positives. But Joe's not here. Don't cry. He'll be back next week. Cuz we had to like get into this studio this week with you know, lots of moving parts, my schedule, Maddie's schedule, so don't worry. He'll be back. What's up? What's happening? Oh my goodness, I'm so tired. I was just in Las Vegas after You're a psychopath. Just coming back from Italy. I know. It was me dad's 70th though, and it was so fun. And he said it was the best birthday ever. Did Yeah, he had a great time. He was He looked a little grouch in the picture you sent me. Oh yeah. Well, I sent her a picture of him napping, but that's him living his best life. And you went to the Bills game. Yes, we went to the Bills game. They won. It was a super eventful game, too. Like someone got kicked out for spitting on somebody? No, like a player spit on another player like meanly. Yeah, he got disqualified. I was like, I didn't see it because near me a man, poor guy, slid down the stairs, fell, hit his face on the rail, so he was bleeding and probably broke his collarbone. Cuz he was drunk? No, he just fell. And he had like his chicken and his drink and so then that got everywhere. And then me and the ladies nearby kept asking like the staff to come clean it up because it people like chicken remnants on you? I didn't, but a lot of people did. And we kept asking them to clean it up because it's like a high foot traffic area and they didn't. So then I ended up doing it. I went and got a bunch of napkins and became janitorial staff because I was freaked out watching all these people about to also fall and I washed my hands thoroughly. Sorry, fixing my mic. Why did you work? You're like, nobody was cleaning up so I just cleaned it all up. No, that's not what normal people do. They just walk past and look the other way and say, "Oh my god, I wish somebody was cleaning this up." I know, but then this is the thing is that I couldn't focus on the game cuz I was just worried about everyone passing, falling, and slipping. And I was like, "I'm not going to be able to be in peace unless this is taken care of." This is when we throw Ammar and Associates cards everywhere. Slip and fall, slip and fall. Uh, how was the stadium? It was actually amazing. It was really easy to get in and out. It was super clean other than that that was not cleaned. It was really hard to find a non-alcoholic beer and I just want to say the guy at Blue Moon was kind of mean to me when I asked. He was like, "Oh, good luck." But guess what? I found one and it was a Coors and I haven't had an NA Coors and it tasted like a water, which was fine for me. Yeah, good thing you like sparkling water. Yeah. NA Coors is like, I'm sorry. Good for you, but I wouldn't waste those calories. Well, no, it's like 20 calories. Okay. No, but I would if somebody was like, "Do you want an NA Coors or a sparkling water?" I definitely would pick the sparkling water. It was just like the vibe of having a beer with a hot dog at the game, which I'll get into the food and feed the group chat, but I think that like also they should bring back slushies. Mhm. I finally finished like my rereads on all the A Cottars. Well, I didn't like go full full full on. Like everybody went like they did Throne of Glass, they did all that once they announced the covers. I just did the last two of the A Cottars and then I did like all of Crescent City. And it was interesting because like I love the first Crescent City so much and I tell everybody who reads it like it's so hard to get into and then you love it. Oh, and I realized that like this whole time I didn't realize that one of the main characters was a merman. Oh, I know, you told me. I was like You were like, you need to know. I did need to know that. Thank you. Cuz I didn't know. And then I read like the ending of the last book and I was like, did I even read this? Like this is how it ended? Like I could remember one scene from the ending. Everything else I must have been on drugs. It was like and I can't remember the beginning of that book. I just don't remember like how they won or anything like that. What? That's what I love about rereads. I I don't know if it's an I'm pretty sure it is an ADHD thing. We talk about ADHD things all the time where it's just even if you're super into something a lot of times you just can't retain it all and then a reread you're like, wait, did I notice that last time? Well, this one's all about it's different because it's like this type of rereading. I feel like everybody's like their own natural researcher. So we're all trying to find like Easter eggs that are connected because this is going to be a big massverse. It's going to be like the Avengers of books. So just trying to figure out what's related, who's still alive, what's the lore, um what's the hidden messages that we didn't see before. But something so funny is that I was telling Eric about how he has I don't know. I was talking about how the girls go get in like a basket for all the stuff that they love and things like that. And he he was like, okay, well like tell me about your book again. And he thought the whole time like I'd been reading Avatar [laughter] A Cottar. So that was a a thing. He's like, I'm going to get her a blue basket. He's like, "Good thing I thought you've been really into Avatar." I'm like, "No, I'm not into Avatar right now, okay? Like, that was out of left field." That's so funny. Yeah. And then also one thing I wanted to talk about is that I was like reading comments and stuff and thinking about like, you know, when people were being trendy like before social media. And so like, you know, like how much cooler it was to be trendy if there was no social media because like it was like a badge of honor to be cool. So, like some of the things I was thinking about was like Livestrong bracelets, right? It wasn't viral, but it was nationwide. But I was reading the comments, people were like, "It was international." And so, what are things that you thought were trendy before social media took over? Definitely Hollister and Abercrombie. And I mean, we're going to talk a little bit about VS later, but pink everything. Yeah, just like yeah, style for sure. I remember when I went and moved to Arizona and everybody was wearing Hollister and Abercrombie and they literally had completely tattered ripped jeans and then the thread together and I was like, "What's going on?" And they were over $100, which back then was a lot for jeans. Did you ever date anybody who wore Ed Hardy? No, I did not. Did you own anything Ed Ed Hardy? No, I Juicy. I I went Juicy and I barely I wanted to be in Hollister and Abercrombie so bad, but their sizes were so small and I was a chunker and I vividly one of my saddest memories is getting a large jacket that I wanted that was really expensive for Christmas and it didn't fit. And I was in the fifth grade. So, I will remember that I like bag bag bag. I think everybody around my age had like the fur lined jacket. That that that's the one. That's the one. from Abercrombie. I got it. It was brown. Back then I wasn't like a big brown person like I am now, but yeah, I was brown. I remember cuz it was $200 and they're selling like a version of that {slash} Snuggie at Target. Like I took a picture the other day. I'm like I saw a Hollister bedding stuff. Interesting. going to send you too because they had this 50%off like a duvet of Parachute and it was like $70 for a whole queen set. Oh, fun. shoot and I was like I don't I was like Maddie doesn't need me to send her bedding. [laughter] I almost did. I know, I probably would have bought it. That's So, yeah, that was a good call. Well, Parachute is such a good like brand, too. Exactly. And then Hollister at Costco? I didn't know that. I haven't been to Costco. totes, only like XXL. Like bigger than that? They said it's their Either it's that or it's bigger cuz they said it's their biggest tote. It has to be that. Can you get that much bigger? Yeah. But they only have black and blue. But yeah, they're at Target, guys. Are you ready to feed the group chat or do you have a little bit more stuff you want to tell us about like Vegas and just like all that goodness? No, you know I I think I have a lot to tell about Vegas while feeding the group chat, so. Okay. Well, first we're going to get into our group project. We finally got SolaWave and um we have a video. We'll post it after this podcast. But it's so funny cuz I was working in the East Valley cuz that's where SolaWave is and I was on a break and I was just going to go work on my computer at this restaurant. So, I had my computer in my purse, literally was in front of the restaurant and I had no idea SolaWave was even there. Like I just turned and I saw and I was like, oh, SolaWave and I saw the ropes and I saw absolutely no one there. So, I called Maddie and I'm like, hey, what are you doing? And she's like, "Oh, like I'm in a meeting. Like, can I call you back?" And I was like, "Yeah, but like I was going to go work at this restaurant, but Sublay has no line. Like, should I just buy the pastries, skip lunch, and go to your house and eat it?" And she was like, [ __ ] yeah." And then I get a text 5 minutes later, she goes, "My neighbor opened the door for you." Yeah, I was like and I I told everyone at my meeting, too, cuz we were already wrapping up and I was like, "Okay, I'm going to go work the rest of the day from home. Priscilla's meeting me with pastries. I'll let you know how it goes." And it was And the funny thing is like truly we worked for hours before we even tested the pastries, cuz we both needed to work. Yeah, actually it was good cuz she didn't even like we It's good having a friend that gets you because like I was on her couch already working when she got home and then she had to work and then she had to put her lash on. Oh, yeah. I had to put my lashes on before we recorded. Yeah, no, we like we just like you know yeah, it went it went perfect. But um what were the four flavors that we had? We had a croissant because they were they were out of chocolate croissants. We had a fig tart. We had a pecan salted pecan cookie. And what was it was called a pistachio tartazine? Okay. Will you go go over what you thought of it? Okay, so few thoughts. I think we started with the croissant and we were both like, "Yeah, this is like a solid European like croissant." Like Yeah, by the way, guys, like a lot of stuff was sold out. So like I literally got the last tart and they told me that they only had an 8-in one left, so I bought it because I was like, "I'm not going to come back again probably for a long time, so just buy what they have." Yeah, and I do wonder though if the croissant would be even better if it was morning and fresh. Like it was good though. Like imagine if it was toasted up. No, totally totally. Like it definitely it was definitely good. But it was She was kind of being like a little bit like I was just in Europe. I was I was trying not to say it. I was trying to just say was. She was like she she did make some comments. [snorts] If you haven't and I was like, "Okay, well, I wasn't in Europe for 4 weeks. I've been eating peasant food, so this is like a lot better than what I've been eating, okay?" Yeah, I would just say if you haven't been in Europe or you haven't been to Europe at all ever, then yeah, you should definitely try this croissant. Oh, wow, that was such a great line, too. Okay, however, the [ __ ] chocolate chip cookie or pecan chocolate chip cookie smacked. I will be back actually probably sooner than Priscilla just cuz it was so good. I love peanut butter and it had pecan butter on it. You guys know I've been looking for the best chocolate chip cookie in America and like you could tell the butter's high quality. It's browned. The texture is dense, but not in a crumble way. You'll hear us say Like if you've been to Crumbl Cookie, like I do not like their cookies cuz they're like cake. Mhm. And this was not. It was thick, but it didn't bother me. Yeah, it was like a thick cookie and it wasn't too doughy either because a lot of times people try to do the We tried that dough place and a lot of times I feel like they try to do a doughy cookie and it actually just tastes like it needs to be cooked more. This texture you could tell they used high-quality chocolate. It was salted properly. We ate the whole thing. It was amazing. Yeah, and I would say cuz we can do pre-orders, so try the other cookie, too. Pre-order. Yeah, I'm ready. I'm It was so good. The the pistachio tarte au raisin, I'd say that was our least favorite and that's just cuz we're not puff people. Yeah. I'm not a gluttonous decadent person like that. I don't like cream puffs that much. I don't Yeah, I just don't even really care about whipped cream personally. It's just never kid cares about it more than me. Yeah, and then the I feel like cream puffs by nature are a little drier because they're like have a giant whipped cream in them and like this one had like pistachio on it and like the pistachio flavor was good, but other than that, it's just not something I would like anyway. Yeah, I didn't think it was poor quality. I just didn't think it was for me. Yeah, agree. Fig tart, delicious. It really was. It was a work of art. The fresh figs were definitely in season. They were delicious. The filling was really good. I I think I could have I would have liked the crust a little better, but I was more my first bite was just the bottom. Yeah, we split a wedge and I had the back end. She had the front end and I was like, "No, actually mine was really good." So, I made her go back for it and I think she would have had a different thought had she had my bite first. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cuz my mom is a really tough cookie and I gave her the leftover cake and the next day she was like, "Oh my god, that cake was so good." Yeah, no, it was I I definitely think regardless, like that's me being picky. I still think it's worth the price, which speaking of Four of that was $78 before tip. Now, I do say that that's actually a fair and valid price because I got an 8-in tart with it. So, I'd probably say that was probably 40 bucks and I'd say what, 10, 12 dollars each other item. The quality is worth it. You have to really consider ingredients for this and I think that they did bring the ingredients. Yeah, so I'm glad we tried it and I will try it again mostly because of the cookies and maybe I just need to give the croissant another fair shot, but Yeah, well, we're going to chocolate one. Well, I went to okay. I went to Roman God of Fire. How did it go? It was fine. It was um, you know, like it's the new like Scott Conant restaurant. Parking, it's just like if you don't go a certain direction, people miss the valet parking because there's a garage in front of the restaurant. So, there's a certain way you have to go. Um, I think that the videos makes the place like a lot bigger than it is. I would say that it's not small, but it just looks a lot bigger in the but I think the architecture's really pretty. I think it's really, really great for Tempe. I think it's that area. I So, my I felt bad because my husband ended up not being able to join us because he got stuck in Prescott for work. And so, like they gave us this private room, and which was kind of nice cuz I had a kid. And I we got Caesar salad, which I thought the Caesar salad was good. I love like a Caesar salad with like toasted crumbs on it. And I think like my mom's like, "The And you don't know the olive oil. They say it's from Italy." I'm like, "Okay, well, that's I have olive oil from Italy, too." But [laughter] And then um so, I thought that was good. We had their croquettes, which to me like that's the one thing I probably would pass on there. Like they're just They're like arancinis. They're just like big things stuffed. And there was nothing that wowed me about it. Like I had We had a carbonara one, and we had a sausage one, sausage with mozzarella one, and they were just filling. And then we had clams. That one's good because I liked it. It was different because a lot of things like clams and linguine or whatever, it's just a white wine sauce, but this was with blistered cherry tomatoes, too, with a lot of garlic, so I did like that. Al dente on the carbonara. Like you could just tell when it came out like the pasta was freshly made, and it was al dente. Amazing. I Oh, okay. So, we got this gnudi, which like I guess like naked ravioli, right? Mhm. How big are they Like you're Italian. How big are they supposed to be when they come out? Pretty small. Okay. These were really big. I didn't like it. For me, they're just really rich. I feel like it would be a perfect appetizer, but to serve it as a dish, it tastes like a It tastes like a big polenta ball. Mhm. And they're big, and I just think that it's way too much for course. And we shared that. And then we also got a New York strip. And steak was cooked good, but my one thing, and you can tell me what you think because I think everybody to each their own, everybody had their own thoughts on it on the table. But I was I took a bite and I was like, "This tastes like something." Then I like keep eating it. And I guess like the steak tastes like bacon. Like it was very like hickory. And my brother has an idea that he thinks that it was cooked on the same flat top as when they cuz they have like um guanciale and like bacon and stuff like that. So he thinks it was like all cooked on the same flat top as the bacon. I don't really like a bacon flavor steak. No. Some people at the table did. What do you think? No. Oh, no, no, no. I I think that's too much. I don't even like bacon on a burger to be honest. I like it in a BLT, but Yeah, but rendered in a steak, I just feel like the steak should taste its own flavor. Yeah, I just want to taste beef. Yeah, not Yeah, it was just too smoky and hickory for me. Yeah, I'm really not even a surf and turf person. I'd rather have lobster and my steak. Not the meat. I don't know. Whatever. I like to share the surf and turf, so. And then dessert, I don't remember what one of the things we got, but I do remember we got a gelato with a red wine compote on it, and it was good. Yum. Uh I was nervous. Somebody said that the food was four out of 10, and I was like, "Oh god." But I would say more like like seven and a half for me. Like there's things I wouldn't get, there's things I would get. I think the atmosphere is fantastic, and I think the area needed something like that. And I think it's such a great like birthday vibe. Fine. No, I'm definitely willing to try it once I'm not sick of Italian food, so probably a few months. You're Italian. You're supposed to bounce back next week. Okay. Wait, my turn. Okay, I have so much to talk about. So, I was so excited because my second favorite meal I've ever had was at Gymkhana in London, which is a two-star Michelin Indian restaurant. And when I first was booking it cuz I was in London and Scotland for about a month and I had Indian food every day. So when I was first booking it, I was like two star Michelin, is it actually going to be good? Is it going to but it there's no masterful plating or anything. It's just really good food but still traditional pretty traditional dishes and I was stoked that they opened one in Vegas. And so I went by myself and I sat at the bar at 5:00 p.m. I'm not No, she calls me and I'm like she's like, "Yeah, I went to my dad's birthday but I didn't want to go to their dinner." So I went to a 5:00 p.m. dinner at the bar. I was like, "I don't know who's actually turning 70, me with my 5:00 p.m. dinner in bed by 9:00 or my dad who was at a 7:00 p.m. dinner out till past midnight?" Yeah, we're on the phone and she's like, "Oh shoot, they're calling me." Okay. Okay, so I was but I was also like nervous, is it going to be as good? And it was so good. So specifically the the dish that like I dream about is the aloo chaat which has like a homemade tamarind chutney with like the yogurt and chickpeas and it was like I got almost sick eating so much of it at our tasting in London and they had it on the menu. And you know we love a tamarind chutney in this group. Go back to our prior episodes if you want to know. And it tastes exactly the same. I was like trying I wanted to try so many things but it's a big portion and I bodied it. It was so good. I didn't want to waste a drop of it. And then one of the bummers, I did talk to the bartender and he said that because it's in Vegas, they wanted to cater to more Western palates. So a lot of traditional goat meals that Oh, I love like people need to accept goat more because like birria Yeah, well and like I feel like a lot of traditional goat Indian like dishes is like my favorite thing I always try to get. And it just go is so in the Indian culture of their meat, too. Which so just keep it. Yeah. They had one goat thing. So I got the one goat thing, but it was like a goat mince that you put on like these little homemade buns to make sliders, which was good, but just not exactly what I was looking for. And like they said because they so they'd swapped a lot there's like you'll see a lot of Wagyu on the menu. That was like their swap and I'm like I'm not getting Wagyu. And then I give her goat. It's just a different I mean like it's yeah, it is different. Yeah, totally. And then I I was having a really hard time deciding cuz I really wanted to try the salmon tikka, but then they also had the lamb Josh and it was like one of the only lamb things, but I I was like Salmon tikka? Skip that for a lamb? No, no, no. It's like they're known dish. It's like Oh my god, yeah. It's so good. Okay, I'm But I just couldn't decide and so I asked him and he was like a foodie. We've been talking this whole time. And he's like you're not going to believe me. But you should get the butter chicken. And I'm like that's like the last thing I'm going to order. I'm like I know I'm a white girl, but like I I never get butter chicken and he's like no, like trust me. This is the like the best thing on the menu. Get the butter chicken. And I was like great. I don't And then I was like, you know what? I'll get the butter chicken. If it's not good, I'll get something else because I mean I have all the time in the world. It's 5:00 p.m. What in Vegas? Yes. It was amazing. It was spicy, it was flavorful, the chicken was perfect texture. I mean it was really good. I It just made me want to try everything though. And then I got the na-garlic naan, of course, which was great. Okay, but I'm getting so full and there's this guy next to me and he's also by himself and he overhears me talking about how I went to the London location and he's like I'm here because I went to the London location. It's amazing. And I did the tasting menu. I'm like, I also did the tasting menu. And so he asks the bartender to just do a tasting menu for him. You order, you pick for me. And so the bartender is like giving him stuff, giving him stuff, and he gets so full, and then his last dish hasn't even come out. So then he he's like, okay, you have one more, buddy. You can do it. And it's the biggest lobster you've ever seen in your whole life. Season with You didn't even tell me that day cuz I was laughing. It was curry. Okay, okay. And it But it's a whole lobster. I'll put a picture. And he's like, I can't even eat a bite. And I'm super full, too. And so I he the bartender puts it out, and he looks at the bartender, and he's like, pack half of that up right now for her. He's like, actually pack three quarters of it up. And I'm like And it's like one of the most expensive things on the menu, guys. I'm like, okay. And like I see a fairy god father comes for food. Yeah. And like he And he's like he's nice. He wasn't creepy. He's like telling me all about his girlfriends. But like I And also I see the bartender bring it out, and and he packs it up in front of you. So I'm like, this isn't like Ruth's lobster. Yeah. [laughter] I probably would have had it. Good sleep well. Pass out on my Vegas bed as long as Set a timer for how long it's going to take to kick in. Make sure I'm out by then. [laughter] Uh but yeah, everything was so good. And even the dessert, I just I got the gulab, which is like the tiny fried donuts with condensed milk, and it was like amazing. And it was like a perfect amount. I literally immediately started to want to to plan another Vegas trip just cuz I want to eat there again. It's just fantastic. And it's beautiful. The service is great. My only complaint is my mocktail was gross, but That sucks. Yeah. Typical. Well, you got more. I do. I do. Okay. So then for my dad's big birthday Wait, before she goes into for my dad's big birthday. So, I called Maddie and I text her like, "I had the worst dinner experience." And she goes, "Wait, I want to call you tell you about my great dinner experience." So, we're going to get into mine in the wine and dine, but she had like such a better night than me when she went to Gymkhana. [laughter] I know, she's like telling me about this horrible night. I'm like, "I got free lobster." Wish you were here though. Okay, okay, go to your go to the big bad 70 steak. Oh, yeah. Okay, so my parents have been going to this restaurant, Del Monico, which is a classic in Vegas, been open 23 years. They it's Emeril Lagasse's. They go once a year, um, and I went one other time not with them. I actually might have told this story on the pod where I had three martinis and got too drunk and got pissed because somebody asked if I could eat a ribeye and I said, "Yeah." And they were like, "You could eat a whole ribeye?" And I had a fit. However, this this is my revenge ribeye. You had a tiny dick problem then. This is my revenge ribeye. Okay. So, Was it good? It looked kind of thin in the pic. No, it was amazing. So, something really cool, they butcher their steaks. So, like every morning they get like the full cows and they have a butcher room. And I know this cuz they gave us a tour. The kitchen was the cleanest kitchen I've ever seen. They use everything. So, they showed us the big stock pots that's like the base for their sauces and it's like bones and everything. All their bread's homemade and their bread is like a croissant bread I've never had before. My aunt brought wine and they didn't charge a corkage fee. They corked and decanted like on a decanter cart. I've never even seen that before and labeled each one at the table. Wait, tell me more about this wine your aunt brought. Was it very special? Did she say it was a big year? Was it the year of your dad's birthday? Oh, no. My aunt is just like the most wine wine person that ever was. Like she's the wine lady. She's got sellers, she's got a broker, like she's Oh, so she's always like just bringing a wine somewhere? Yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. She's always got the good stuff. Okay. So, that and then we had everybody get their own appetizer and then we split. So, I had like hot honey shishitos, my uncle had gumbo, my mom had barbecue shrimp that had a homemade biscuit. That is like the epitome of we always say white people. I like I've never gone to like a dinner with my entire family where everybody got their own appetizer. Oh, yeah. I've never done that in my entire life. Oh, yeah. No, totally. I like I do it with Eric's family sometimes. I actually I kind of like forgot cuz I haven't done it in so long, but I mean it's really nice cuz we just were all trying each other's stuff. Like my dad got oysters. And then they brought The service was just crazy. Like they brought over like a little amuse-bouche that just like from the chef. They did They also brought extra an extra app which was their homemade truffle chips. And I was like, "Who's getting chips at this like really fancy steakhouse?" Again, I don't know what These were the lightest, crispiest, most delicious potatoes I've ever had. I was like, Better than the truffle chips you gave me? Yeah, yeah. They were good. No, they were so good. I mean they were clearly like just made and like hand-cut. It was amazing. And then um we all got some sort of steak and my aunt and uncle split a ribeye and they came tableside and sliced it for them and served it. Everything was cooked perfectly. Mine was dry-aged and then had roasted garlic on top. It was just all amazing. And then the sides, too, they had this creamed corn that had like poblanos that was amazing. They had these steak fries that again, I'm not a potato person and I was like, "I want more of these." Like I couldn't stop eating them. And just nothing was bad. Everything was delicious. And then the last thing for dessert, they do a pecan pie. And like since my family's from New Orleans, it's it's very New Orleans. A lot of like even though it's a steakhouse, there's a lot of New Orleans tones. So, we just all were like in heaven. And this pecan pie, it had this oatmeal crust. And it was the best pecan pie I've ever had. And I've had a lot of pecan pie. I make amazing pecan pie. And I'm like, I need to recreate this. This was amazing. So, it was just And even that they do their gelato in-house. So, then they also bought like a banana gelato. And everything was just like top tier. And then bam. So good. And then they gave us this tour of the kitchen like I said. And they have a chef's table there. And you it's all behind glass where you can see the kitchen. The chef was so personable. He said he wants to come on as a guest. So, we'll have to hit him up. Did you sit at chef's table? No, they just showed us where it is. And their chef's table is 175 a head, which for Well, it's probably was cheaper than your meal. But And oh yeah, definitely. Might as well just done that. Yeah, and they make it catered for you. It's a mandatory minimum people. That's the difference. How many people? 12. How many did you guys have? Six. No, five. Oh, okay. Yeah. And then yeah, everyone they were just everything was so nice. It was It just made me like I feel like a lot of times with steak houses, I'm kind of underwhelmed and it feels very like cookie cutter. Like, And this felt like an like a timeless well-executed steakhouse that like I just want to go back to as well. I mean, we can knock all we want on Vegas, right? But that's why Vegas has all these like amazing restaurants. The decadence of going Yeah, yeah. I know, totally. I just I don't know. In Vegas, it's there's a lot of like annoying parts about it. But some of it's just fun and silly. and it's just a good time. Like I loved going into the Venetian, where that's where it's located, and being like, "It looks just like the Uffizi." Like What hotel did you stay at again? Park MGM. Okay. Because I love the Venetian rooms. Oh, I love big. Yeah. Oh, yeah. They're large and in charge. Yeah, no, they're amazing. I love the Venetian in general. It's just a fun spot. But I love the Park MGM cuz it's non-smoking, so that was really cool. And they have an Eataly, which if I wasn't striking from Italian food right now, I totally would have enjoyed. You were like, "Don't even look at me. My eyes are burning seeing Eataly." By the way, like also good thing you just got out of Europe because of like Paris. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's a little bit insane right now when you flew through Heathrow, and I bet all the flights are just [ __ ] nuts right now. Oh, man, no, totally. And I had a 2-hour delay going to Vegas, and I was just like, "Oh my gosh, does a 2-hour delay land?" Cuz I just had my 2-hour delay back, but I had an easy flight back, so. Um and then my last thing just really quickly, obviously I went to the Bills-Raiders game. I had such a good time, but I had a footlong Chicago dog, and it was absolutely delicious. I just was so happy. And also they I had to get buffalo wings for the Buffalo Bills, and they smoked the wings there, which I love smoked wings. They were so good, the blue cheese with the blue cheese. And then finally, for dessert, I did a taco banana, and like a frozen one. And then they had a ice cream cookie sandwich, which we've talked about that we love, but I was like thinking it was going to be like the Nestlé Toll House ones, which I still like, but uh-uh. It was this Fred's Freddy's brand or Fred's brand, and it's like homemade cookies. It was so good. It was just perfect. Was it chocolate chip? Yeah. Yeah, I I don't like mustard, but I'll eat a Chicago dog just to be like a purist. Yeah, I don't like ketchup, so it's like my perfect dream. Yeah, I love ketchup on my dog. Okay, are you ready to wine and dine? Yes, I'm so ready to wine and dine again. Okay, our first wine is Maddie. I am mad at Maddie, guys. You guys are just finding this out because the episode's gone so well, but we actually are re-recording this right now, even though we recorded day earlier thinking like we'll be done because somebody let their computer die. I didn't bring my big brick, and it I thought I could just plug it into a power strip, but that's not powerful enough for my laptop, and so it died, and we lost half the episode, so we're re-recording now for the most Yeah, I literally was looking over, and I was like, "Where's my face? I only see you." Also, but like, did you see that I was commenting on the other podcast that the same thing happened to them? Yeah. Yeah, they got it on video, though, at least, of them being like, "Where's our audio?" I don't have that. But anyways, back to wine and dine. Okay, so we do have a few things we want to wine and dine. I'm going to try to like recreate this story for you guys because I've got some things to wine about. But like, the first little thing I'm going to wine about just like quickly is that, like, there's a trend and people are using little, little teeny tiny patio tables for seats for two people. And that's annoying because I am multiple cups person, a water, a soda, a cocktail, an appetizer, a drink. And also, I'm a slow nosher, like, leave it. We're going to keep eating at it. There's no room for me to even put my phone down. It's so annoying. No, I totally agree. This is such a valid wine. It's to have to worry about something falling off as somebody that drops things and breaks things stressful. But also, why is it okay to use an end table, something that barely fits two plates across from you unless they're smaller plates? To let people go into an establishment and dine at and expect a tip at. In acceptable. Well, I feel like they still deserve the tip cuz it's not the server's fault that the restaurant's being cheap, but annoying. Exactly, but I'm saying if you're giving a service, give me a full table is what I mean. It's not the server's fault, you're right. I'm not going to dock a tip, but I'm just saying that if you are going to have a sit-down restaurant, let people sit down at a comfortable place. Do not make it a metal circle tiny table. No, totally. And also, something that actually could impact tip is if they're not on there pre-bussing, people might get mad because they the table the plates are stacking up and they have no space. You have to pre-bus there. But, I'm not like kidding you. If you get two drinks and one plate, there's you have to pull the napkin and the fork and the and the knife immediately and put it on your lap there's no space for that. It's annoying. Okay, are you ready to get into my wasabi gate? Okay. So, I feel winded for telling the story again, you guys, but I'm going to do it for you guys. Me and my girlfriend she was from out of town we went on a double date to this new restaurant that opened in North Scottsdale. And I had been wanting to go there just because, like, we really needed, like, a new sushi restaurant and I had robot us, so I was super excited about this opening. And I knew it wasn't going to be, like, life-changing or anything, but it's just great to have things in your neighborhood. So, we go, my friend orders for drinks for us because we were running a little late, but we hit the tail end of happy hour and she rapid orders a bunch of stuff. And they have a really good happy hour and I want to preface by saying that this is the first time I've gone to a restaurant where I was texted Maddie or anybody in general and be like, "The food was okay, but I'll never go back." She orders happy hour, and I looked at the menu a little, and there were some good prices on there. So, $5 shishito peppers, $5 edamame. We also got a popcorn chicken, 10 bucks. And then, cocktails, she got a um they got two gimlets, and I got a signature version of like their espresso martini, but it had like it was more like a espresso martini mixed with a cortado, and and then, my husband got a drink. And then, when we ordered and our sashimi came first, we I Well, first I want to preface it like we were kind of giggling the whole time because our server was very green. And it was just kind of like a funny thing because like we just had to explain everything we ordered, like if we wanted a certain like drink with a specific alcohol, like they didn't know like if that was a type of alcohol, things like that. So, I was like, "Hey, do you guys have pickled wasabi?" And so, she says, "No, we don't have any. We only have like the regular wasabi, or we have the sliced wasabi." So, the whole table's like, "Oh my god, yeah, we'll do the sliced wasabi." And so, she comes and brings it out, and we look at it. And like, I don't say anything when she drops it off or anything, but it is the expensive, like, fresh wasabi that's ground, and it's not the sliced wasabi the sliced pickled wasabi, which is fine in itself but like, so, like I don't say anything, and then later, like, she comes back, and then I ask her. I was like, "Hey, just so you know, like this is like a ground one, but do you guys have like the pickled one by chance? If not, it's fine." And like it's awkward because she doesn't know anything, and so she's like going back and she's like, "No, no, that's sliced wasabi." And we're like, Well, there are other types of wasabi. Like this is not sliced wasabi. She's like, "Oh, let me go talk to my manager." And we're like, "No, please do not go talk to your manager. Like we don't I I actually do not care about the wasabi. Like drop it. Like" And then she comes back and it's so And she goes, "I'm going to have somebody come out and slice the wasabi table side for you." And then we go, like, "Please do not have somebody come and slice the wasabi for us." She's like, "No, no, no, we really want you guys to see the experience and all that." So, in that time too, when she came back, I told her because I was sitting there I was like realizing I hated my drink. And then I'm like Guys, I think I'm drinking whiskey. And they're like, "No." And everybody has a sip and they're like, "That's whiskey." And so, I like she comes back and I'm like, "I'm so sorry. Like I think this is whiskey." And then I She's like talk to me and I'm like "Can I just get like a different drink actually completely cuz I had a highball?" And she's like, "Yeah." I was like, "I'll just do like your signature margarita that you guys have on there." And she's like, "Okay." And then she goes, "Oh, wait, like that one I think has mezcal on it." And I was like, "Okay, like can you sub it for a blanco?" And then like she couldn't like name her blancos. Like I cuz I wanted cos amigo they didn't have it. So then she was like trying to figure out what I should have. And then I just said, "You know what? Just a block" She was like, "I can do a you call it margarita if you want. I can just find a blanco and do that." I was like, "Yes, let's just do that. Don't even do the signature. Let's not even sub it." Get that. Then the wasabi guy comes back. This wasabi guy is like a nerd and he comes up and he's like "Hey guys. Do you guys order some ground wasabi?" And we're like No, we didn't order ground wasabi in our heads. But we all appease him and we're like, "Yeah." And then my husband like couldn't let it He He "So, you guys only have ground wasabi here? No slice?" And he goes, "No, not No slice wasabi in the restaurant here, buddy. Just all ground and fresh." So, then we're like [laughter][gasps] And then we're like, you know, you know what I mean? I was like, great. Like, we already have And so, we tell him, we show him the thing. We're like, we already have some. You don't even have to do it. Like, it's fine. Totally fine. We just wanted to see you cuz No, no, let me do it for you guys. So, he starts grinding it and he's talking to us. And then he goes, "Actually, guys, you guys mind if I just do this back at my station? And it's really awkward and I've never done this before." So, we're like, okay. So, then he like comes back. We're just like, okay, this is way too much wasabi conversation. And then um I he comes back, drops it off, and then we like tell the server, like, "So, just so you know, like, this is ground, not sliced." And she was like, "Really?" Like, just shook and shocked over this whole And like, and we were super like nice about it. I just She just like, you know, she would never served before. And it was fine. Like, And so, we then order our entree, which we did family style. So, we end up getting a crispy spicy tuna, two sashimis, a roll, and then we also got four pieces of nigiri. Two sashimis because they come in three pieces each and it was like toro. So, after the meal was over, we actually like didn't get dessert and we were still like hungry, but we just were like, let's just close out, you know? And so, [snorts] when the check comes, the girls are chatting, we're having a good time, and my husband and the other spouse kind of like look at each other kind of funny. And the wives are like, what? And they're like, I thought that was a three. And it was our tab was over $500 for both of us. And it was diabolical. Like, everything that we got, the one thing that bankrupted us that we knew was going to be expensive is we did do a round of shots, but that round of shots that we did, they said it was like their house shot and it was just raspberry lemonade and vodka. They literally said that and that was 15 bucks each. So, we were like, "How the hell could this be over $500?" Like, it was insane. So, after I took the receipt and I went home and I call and I like looked it up on the drive home. Because after we paid it was 600. So, then I like look and I call my girlfriend immediately and she goes she picks up she goes, "We literally just ordered our pizza. We're in the parking lot waiting for our pizza." I'm like, "Oh my god." And I go, "Hey, so um remember that like well gimlet that you got?" And she was like, "Yeah." I was like, "Guess how much it cost?" And she was like, "How much?" Like and I was like, "Your two drinks in a sifter was $66." I was guessing 20 and I think 20's diabolical. $33 a gimlet for like a not even a real gimlet, a half gimlet basically in a sifter is diabolical. Like the la-I'm sorry. There's How are you squeezing fresh lime juice and it's well? It's a It's a Botanist gin well. How are you squeezing enough lime juice to make your labor $33? And their pricing is so inconsistent the way that they were doing things. It was It was a dollar upcharge. You said a dollar upcharge. What do you mean? For the sprite. So, they charged a dollar for sprite. Yeah, so we got Crown and Sprite and they charged for the Crown and then they charged a dollar to get sprite in it to get sprite in it. Sprite? That's crazy. Yeah. And then That's crazy. It's inconsistent because I get they get a gimlet. They charge extra money for that one. I think it was an extra $12 for the well $6 for the gimlet or whatever each martini or whatever. But then my husband got an espresso martini and then they charged him that and then they charged him only $4 for the espresso martini. But then they charged my drink a single drink and then they charged me $4 to make it a margarita. So it's annoying. It's so stupid. I do not think a well margarita should cost 25 Hold me to a cross. I do not give an F. Oh wait, we didn't even get to the best part. Maddy was guessing yesterday. Maddy, do you want to tell them how much you found out the wasabi was or should I? Okay, so I she gets $4. Yeah, I thought $4 was a high price because I don't think I've ever charged more than $2 maybe five at a Michelin sushi place for fresh wasabi. And by the way, Priscilla really wants to make this an anonymous Yelp review, but after she told me how much this cost, I disagree because I think there's theft and robbery going on at this establishment on top of all those drink issues. Tell them [snorts], Priscilla. Tell them how much your wasabi was. My this my this this much wasabi in a little bowl in a little bowl. I would say like two almonds worth was $10. I So yeah, Maddy outed them last time. I'll let her out them this time again. It wasn't me. It was her. It was Kusa. But they I'm sorry. I don't care if it cost that much, but I want to feel like I spent that much. I've gone to steak houses and spent that much. I've gone to so many restaurants, but for me to go to an elevated version of Kona Grill and be bamboozled into these prices like it is it is awful. I'm sorry. Like it is insane. Like they don't deserve to be open if you're just robbing people. If you're like if you are blindly charging people for the things that are not priced on the menu for alcohol, I think it's rude. It's so rude. It's a scam. Just up-charging everything, nickel and diming. I literally have never heard of wasabi costing as much as your appetizers. Like what are you talking about? Wasabi cost more than shishito peppers. Wasabi cost more than edamame. Wasabi was equal to a happy hour cocktail. And by the way, I would pay $10 for pickled wasabi if that's what it said on the menu because I love pickled wasabi that much, but I don't want to be like blindsided with fake wasabi that's not even pickled and an awkward encounter. I would have paid any price, but I think the principle is that they [ __ ] me over in so many different angles in the pricing that I was like, I'm not giving this place another dollar. Like I will like if $33 is your gimlet and it costs more than to get a full entire steak at Outback Steak, we've got a problem. If your gimlet cost more than that. Absolutely. That's ridiculous. Yeah, and it's like if you're going to have Also, if you're going to charge these prices, then you need to have white service service. Like white glove service. I do not need to have somebody who's never served me before, doesn't know the menu, doesn't know alcohol, has to ask like a question after everything, and then be charged these astronomical prices. I think there there is a level of like you have to have good service if you're going to charge that much. And I'm okay spending that much. I love a tasting menu, but they really pissed me off when I like got that when I saw the $33 for a gimlet. I'm sorry. You're not getting my forgiveness. I feel like Kelly Clarkson at Art of Play. Not today, buddy. [laughter] Nope. Wild. I know. Do you have something you want to whine about? I just have a little one that feels like nothing compared to my whine is that I think hotel keys shouldn't be only linked to your room. Like, I like the safety of being that if you go in an elevator, you need to swipe your key to go up. But I don't think it should be room specific, because if you are on a different floor than your friends or your family, then it's a whole thing and you have to meet, especially in Las Vegas. So we dealt with that and I just thought it was really annoying and not practical. Or at least like add you know, the same party on the same keys. If you're in the same hotel, you should be able to bop around. Yeah. Or if Or why didn't they put you on the same floor? Yeah. Also, but what if you're on a different floor from your parents? Yeah. You're in a different Oh. That's so weird. I guess Also, you probably your parents were like, get her away. [laughter] Just kidding. Just kidding. No, I hate that. I hate that because in New York I had to go and get my friend a few times and if that was when I had elevator gate. So I I don't I actually am traumatized by elevators. Let's not go into it. Um Yeah, honestly I'd rather take the stairs if it was accessible. [snorts] All right, are you ready to spill the matcha on Dancing with the Stars drama? Yes. Yes. I'm so excited for tonight's episode. So we're going to move Dancing with the Stars like up. Um usually we talk about it last, but the recap's so different because there's actual drama to report on. So background story on everything. So Val actually Carrie Ann Inaba, she's like a judge on the show who picks favorites. So she loves some people and then she's really, really harsh to some people. And then sometimes there's clips of her circulating where she's like, "Forget the lifts, da da das." So, what we've learned as new Dancing with the Stars fans, that some dances have lifts and some dances can't. I didn't even know about those rules, but I guess that like when Jenna and Harry Shum Jr. performed, afterwards she like really stuck it to them and like told them that they had a lift. But not only did she tell them they had a lift, she then, when they asked about it, she then read them like the definition of what a lift was. But then, in reading the definition, it didn't it wasn't applicable to them, cuz she said it's a lift is by your partner and he was flipped by the troop. Which there's a there's a clip circulating that she actually congratulated Val like 7 years ago and was like, "Congrat-That was so creative of you for getting the troop to do it instead of you." I I hate when people try to be so passive-aggressive, if not aggressive, and be like, "It shows right here in the rules." and then they're wrong. Like, you're standing on all 10, but you don't have 10 to stand on. Embarrassing. Well, the hardest part about Carrie Ann is she really, really wants to prove to herself that she's like this tough critic that knows it all, right? But what America wants is voting Derek. We want that soft, gentle parenting where you empower them with that strong compliment. And then Derek's always so enthusiastic when he's like, "Strong lines, strong lines." You know, like he's not condescending and he And so, I think that like And these people work so hard every single week and they have two left feet and they've never danced before. This is like so brand new. I had to take a class for my wedding dance and oh, it was bad. So, like I know how hard it can be and so I wish that like they were felt more uplifted to go on and do it because like it sucks to put your heart on the line every day to dance and then get [ __ ] on. Seriously, I I feel like she's she's a wannabe Simon Cowell and I just feel like that's already played out and you can be critical without being rude or kind of nasty. You like you can be uplifting and give constructive feedback. Yeah, cuz remember she was like, "This is why you guys pay me." But I don't remember if it was Dancing with the Stars or So You Think You Can Dance, but there was a judge, do you remember the hot tamale train, but she got fired? Mhm. Okay, so I forget which judge and you guys can tell me in the comments but there was a judge and she got fired for doing something bad. But if you did a really good, then you got to go on the hot tamale train and you got all this praise, and it was really funny and cute. I liked it. But like, you know, into the drama, so then she she puts a slap on their wrist and Jenna takes it like a champ and she she's respectful after and they ask her about it she was like, "Oh, I didn't understand." All this stuff. And then like her husband's like, you know, like salty in the back because Carrie Ann Inaba has done this to her exactly 5 years ago in the exact same way. She has read her a lift instruction before. And that has to hurt when you are that like that's embarrassing to do to somebody twice. And so Yeah. what happened that was wrong about the situation is then her husband tried to be papa bear and tried to do a reference and was like "Fresh Prince was almost in the ballroom last night." And he just ruined it. That's how you a man ruining it for a woman because she was fine and then he made it all about DV whether he meant it or not, you just can't do that. So, now Carrie Ann then did a HR report on him, but you know what? As much as we don't like Carrie Ann, she's valid for doing that because you cannot do that in the workplace. You cannot do that. And so, for the first time ever, Val has been suspended from Dancing with the Stars for 1 week. And Alan Bersten has um since he got eliminated, he's taking over with Jenna Dewan to be her partner. And then Gleb out of left field, who's not even who's not even performing, basically just said Alan's not to the level of performing, which is nuts because Alan has a mirror ball. But then, here's the kicker that at least you know, we get this bit of information recording a day late. Val unfollows Alan and Emma. What is going on at Dancing with the Stars? And I kind of love it. So [laughter] much tea. No, yeah, it's it's just a bummer because this is the dedication episode. So, it, you know, to to make a tasteless violence against women comment, especially in this climate, and then miss out on that because you just decided to be "I have to defend my wife" in like the worst way possible, whereas like she was the one that everyone felt bad for and now he, like as you said, just ruined it. Disappointing. That consequences are appropriate because once again, like people shouldn't like if you give somebody a little and you don't condone them, they're going to one day the comment's going to get away [ __ ] worse. So, I think that yeah, they should put their I will be sad if like the consequences turn into him not having a position though. And like you guys can cancel me, but I do like his dancing. But like he was wrong and I will stand on that. I will like I want the record to know he was wrong. I just will be sad if he was. I will. I will. Sorry guys. Two things can be true. No, totally. Okay, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. My trauma. I was telling Bree yesterday, "Uh, when I hear Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, suddenly I am in fifth grade and not fitting into my Hollister jacket with the fur underline that was a size large even though I was a child and still didn't fit." And watching those girls on stage, I, you know, I love women. I support women, but man did those shows do some do some things on my body image. Wait, [laughter] you you love women? You love women? Like breaking news. Um yeah, okay. So, you know, Barbara Barbara walking at 5 weeks 6 days postpartum. She's so sweet. She brushed it off. I'm just walking. I'm sorry. Couldn't get me in a swimsuit 6 weeks postpartum. Tell you that. The only thing you're going to get me in is a baggy t-shirt. And I will say your organs move back. Like it's incredible what the human body does, but you still have to be a little bit secure to do that. [laughter] Totally. And I also want to say that my favorite genre of husband is absolutely obsessed with his wife and like oh my gosh, Mr. Sprouse just like looking like Regina George's mom on the sidelines and then like you're a good Actually, Kris Jenner was Regina. Oh, yeah, you're right. No, Kris Jenner was Regina because she literally had the camera. She was like it was like this. And it was like it was quintessential. Like so good. It was like her and then Timothy. Like like they kind of look related to It was funny. But cute. Yeah, I I will want to say like if I had a job for a lot of years and then my sister went in and took employee of the months without even working there. I'll be sad. And that's my reference to Kendall walked this show many, many years. She actually is a true supermodel. She does print, she does a lot of things, she works. My hot sister has never walked in this show before and she got to wear the $50 million bra. I mean, she looked good. She looked amazing. Nothing against her walking. But sisterhood, I get it. [laughter] Yeah, that that would hurt. That would hurt. Though, I will say I did see that her Halloween costume three or four years ago or something was that. So, I think it's cute that she manifested it. Oh, yeah. That's a really upside positive look. [laughter] On the negative side, $50 million for a bra is [ __ ] ridiculous. It pisses me off. Something else that I said yesterday was that could pay for a lot of boob jobs. Well, here's the thing. Well, what was a bra worth 10 years ago? 10 million? Like, I just feel like everything, like the price is so crazy. Like, every single makeup brand is getting bought and evaluated at a billion dollars. It's chump change if somebody buys your company at 10 million now. This is America. Okay, we're going to go into Collin Gosselin. Yeah, Maddie and I have been like trying to look away. But we totally have been following the drama. If you guys don't know, Collin Gosselin released a book from Kate Plus 8 and he basically is called In the Shadow of My 8: Surviving Reality TV of My Childhood. And he basically goes and talks about how his mother basically abused him, zip-tied him, locked him in a room. He had dinner at different times. And this is confirmed by his sister, too. And he just was like he was the one that didn't want to film and it jeopardized it. So, she basically was like, "I'm going to remove him from the situation." And I want everybody to know that on record that I was watching the clips and Jon Gosselin is not like the angel in the situation. He's just another variable. He wasn't as bad, but he still sucks and I want everybody to know that. Like he would like she would be mad and then be like, "Can you deal with Collin?" And then he would get like upset for her. And then deal with her like deal with them like in a bad way. And I just TLC is [ __ ] up. [laughter] TLC really built an empire on families that they should have given therapy instead of a second season. TLC is diabolical. Who lets eight kids and not eight kids, 18 kids and counting, the Duggars, go on even though they have child pedophilia? Yeah. We also talked about Extreme Makeover Home Edition. They would ruin these people's lives. It looked like, "Oh, they're doing something really nice." But actually they could already not afford their mortgage and now they can't pay their property taxes. There was just it was all everything was just for views. How many shows are just based around like being obsessed with someone like My 600-lb Life and all of those. It's all about like And then like the six the sister wives? Did you watch that? A little bit. now. They're divorced now. But like how is TLC not getting sued for just having like the moral compass when they watch this [ __ ] Because they know like there's a scene there's a stuff that's circulating this clip from Collin's book where he says that they're going to going to do an escape room. The production planned for them doing an escape room. They were on vacation. And he made a joke saying like, "Just like how I try to escape my room." And so, she heard that joke, and so they filmed them going in, and then she they she pulled him from the filming and sent him back to the hotel, and he couldn't participate in the outing about camaraderie, about doing things team building together. And that was like the whole point of it. And she pulled him from that and yanked him by the ear out. And it's just it shows up the triangulation and all that stuff. And one thing I will say is I saw people like, "Oh, well, what about the siblings?" And it's the dynamic is sucks in black and white, but if you really like analyze and think about it, people are not going to open up their childhood trauma for the other kid that's suffering, if it's not going to affect them. Like, you know? Like, they're not going to They're going to say like, "Yeah, that sucked for him." But they're not going to like they're not going to change their perspective because they haven't had their own Like, sometimes when you go through therapy, you realize after a lot of reflecting that your childhood wasn't as great. And they just haven't had like their own reflective because like they've been like groomed by a narcissistic parent their entire time, and they know and they are always like they're they live on a fight or flight to like vow for Kate's love. Yeah, and they don't want to risk their place and become otherwise like their brother. Yeah. Yeah, and in general, a lot of people don't want to talk about trauma. They're walking on eggshells because it's so hard to please her. And so, they're like they're traumatized, too. So, if it's going to unravel and like make it worse, they're not going to do it for their sibling. So, it's like I can understand that dynamic. Which just sucks. Everybody like really, really, really doesn't like the older one though, from the internet I'm seeing. Okay, last one, just like bring it to like a really, really great note. Carole Radziwill, the parking menace. She's back on Ronnie. She says that she is in trouble because she keeps fake cones in her car in New York City. And then she has expired plates and and her and then they've done a record check and she has $8,000 in tickets since 2020. And I hate that I'm giving Carole Radziwill a double standard, but I love it. I know, it's so fun. I'm sorry. This is my favorite kind of menace to society stuff is when you just keep doing like your version of doing crime is being like a parking menace. That's hilarious. Yeah, she has the cones and she has a 1998 car. She's had it for almost 30 years. It's insane. And also like I truly don't think Ghislaine is part of like Carole Radziwill and like the sex ring. I just have a dollar for it and I think Carole was not complicit. [laughter] Because I wouldn't be reporting on her. No, totally, totally, totally. I love that she managed to make parking violations seem old money. Yeah, she is I love her. Did you watch Ronnie when she was on there? A little bit. She was so funny and she had her little cougar. Okay, Al Hunter is pick your curse, which are some Halloween would you rathers? All right, so Okay, every Oh, wait, sorry, hold on. I'm Okay, be cursed to say you too to absolutely everything or end every conversation with love you. I'm a you twoer. I already end every conversation with love you, so I'm going to go with that one. So, you can say love you and I'll say you too. Oh, it works perfect. I hate when I say you two and it's not applicable. Yeah, no, that is like the worst. I do it all the time. Or you say I love you and it's not applicable, too. Okay. Spend a night in a haunted mansion with luxury bedding and room service or in a completely safe Airbnb with damp sheets. Yeah, I'm going to have the ghost tuck me in at night. We're probably going to do a skin care routine together and I'm going to ask them a bunch of questions because yeah, we're going to have room service. I'm sorry, we are. Why would I sleep on a damp sheet? Like there's nothing more haunting than that. What made it damp? I'm concerned. What made it damp? Okay, let's not go that far. Attend a seance where your ancestors review your dating history or one where they inspect your credit card statements. You going to have my credit card statements, baby? I have I just don't want to go through them telling me I made a bad decision. Yeah, I would much rather Not currently, about my past. No, totally. Oh gosh, same. But my credit card statements I feel like they'd be like Wow, you don't spend that much on this or they'd be like, "Wow, you spend a lot on gifts." And you know what I'm saying? they would be like, "You're eating good in the neighborhood." Yeah, yeah. I do think my my nonnas would be a little concerned with how much I've spent on Italian food. They'd be like, "You could make it at home." But Mine would be like just mad that I spent money. Okay, be trapped in a time loop of your most awkward first date or your most embarrassing hangover apology. First date. Hangover, I don't There's a lot of unknown in there and I definitely was like yeah, no, first date I'll be trapped in that. I don't have to see him, but like anxiety like you couldn't really care about the person and be like anxious about it. Yeah, I think the anxiety and disdain of hurting someone and not remembering it versus just being uncomfy some person you're not compatible with. Like those are two different pain points. And who knows, maybe the first date they're paying. So at least [laughter] I'm just looping and eating a good meal while I hate my company. Have you What was the worst first date you've been on? I don't know first date, but I've been on a date where I was already done with them. Where we already had it planned, so I had a I had to go and hang out with them and I was like so ached out the whole time already. But I couldn't cancel cuz we just like had hung up the day before. Yeah, I think my worst one was we didn't even get food. We got a drink at a shitty bar and I was like, I don't drink. And they were like, well, why didn't you say that? And I was like, well, you were the one that said you want to go get Do you want to I don't know. Well, it is on you when they say, "Do you want to go get a drink?" You can say, "No, I don't want a drink." I just was figured I would get water. I don't know. Like you had an opening. Well, you do like mocktails and stuff like that, but you had an opening. They did give you an opening. You're right, you're right, you're right. And then but then they just kind of bragged the whole time about like clubbing and I was like, oh my god. I'll be honest though, I haven't gone on that many like dates cuz I've had a lot of relationships. But I'm living through you. Like I've gone on I've gone on a handful, but like not like the way that you've had like your stories for me where I'm like, oh yeah. I know. Well, it was so funny because I really hadn't been on any and then I got married and then I had my first round of bunch right after not right after, like 7 months after I got divorced. And then I was like, oh, this sucks. No wonder people complain [laughter] about this. But Yeah, all like the fish in the sea. I remember I And then there's also like I was dating some people where like my roommates knew them and they liked them and they wanted me to stay with them. I'm like, no. [laughter] You know? Yeah. Yeah, that's weird. Not a reason to date someone. Next question. Be chased through a haunted house by someone asking you to split the bill down to the cent or someone asking, so what's your five-year plan? Five-year plan? My five-year plan is the aftertaste. Yeah, I want you to ask about my five-year plan. That's exciting to me. five-year plan is I guess Giggly Squad at Madison Square Garden. We're going to be the podcast opening up for them. Goals. Yes. Yes. Yes. Okay, and then last one. Spend Halloween with a coven who can fix your entire life, but makes you attend weekly meetings or keep all your problems, but never attend another meeting again in your life. A weekly meeting? Fix my problems now and I And then that's not even scary. That's not even spooktastic. I know, a weekly coven? That actually sounds great. And you're going to fix my life? Oh my god.
