Episode 32: The Bird Is $15,000 and the Beef Is Free
The girls are back in the studio! Maddy is FRESH off the plane after a month in Italy and Priscilla shares a deeply concerning announcement from her husband that turns out to be a spectacular misunderstanding. Then the girls investigate Scottsdale's latest aspiring socialites, their questionable networking empire...
For Feed the Group Chat, Maddy wraps up her Italian food tour with a trip to Puglia, where the views are spectacular, the tasting menus are expensive, and apparently nobody knows what to do with a steak. Back in Arizona, Priscilla discovers a promising new happy-hour destination and finds herself having an unexpectedly wholesome evening at Chili's. Naturally, this leads to a serious investigation into chain restaurant desserts and childhood dirt cups.
For Whine & Dine, Maddy would like to formally remind the flying public that purchasing an aisle seat does not entitle you to the entire human being sitting next to you. Priscilla also brings a workplace injury involving an enormous bucket of feta cheese that somehow turns into a conversation about promotions, personal injury, and the official ranking of inferior cheeses.
Then it's time to Spill the Matcha, where Kelly Clarkson finds herself in a very public feud over a $15,000 mechanical bird, and Priscilla takes a deep dive into a celebrity wedding with enough billionaires, famous exes, and generational wealth to fund a small country. The girls discuss upcoming television revivals, the latest Dancing with the Stars drama, and why the show's voting system desperately needs an intervention. Plus, Producer Joe once again reminds everyone that his relationship with pop culture is a work in progress.
Finally, in honor of a particularly unfunny Shane Gillis joke, the girls introduce a new Palate Cleanser: The Audacity Scale where Maddy and Priscilla rank everyday acts of male audacity from mildly irritating to please surrender your microphone immediately.
Come hungry, leave fed, taste buddies! 🍸✨

The Aftertaste, [music] I'll have what she's spilling. The podcast for foodies and pop culture girly swirlies. [music] We're here to yap with our mouths full of caviar about what we're eating, obsessing over, and what's living rent-free in our heads long after the plates have cleared. [music] From local bites and unhinged hot takes to friendships, gossip, and internet culture, these are the conversations that linger even after the last bite. Come hungry and ready for dessert. Happy hump day munch day taste buddies. Back in the studio with Maddie. She's no longer a fanny packer and Aperol spritz on Instagram anymore. I was just giggling about that. It's so nice to be back. Yeah, we missed you. We hugged like little schoolgirls when we saw each other. Little squeals. Yeah, yeah. How are you? I'm good. I am fresh off the flight. I just got back really late last night. Later than it was supposed to be. There was a delay. But [snorts] your your seat situation. Everything was good and dandy? We always look forward to know if the flight's okay. You know, actually, I'm going to save the seat situation to the wine and dine where it's appropriate. But Are you getting older now and starting to appreciate more expensive tickets? Yes, yes, but you'll see. This is there there there there was some user error here, and I'm curious to see your takes on if I'm overreacting or if the person next to me was nuts. Oh, with the person next to you was nuts. Yes. [laughter] Okay. Wait. Joe Oh, wait, you guys, Joe's here. Yeah, I'm here. Sorry. [laughter] Sorry, he's busy. My god. No, no, no. Too good for the taste buddies. What's going on, Joe? He was texting, guys. Yeah, I was texting guys. Anyways Joe, so the other day, this story's like exactly for you. The other day, me and me and my husband, we went out and then we were hanging in bed after and like chatting and then he like rolls over so he could like scroll, you know, and I'm doing my own thing. And we like haven't talked for like there's a lull. And then all of a sudden in like a very monotone voice, he goes, "My dick died." And I was like And he wasn't looking at me and I just went "Ew, what?" [laughter]
And he was like They were like both laugh. I'm like, "Ew." And then he's like And I'm just like, "Why'd you say that?" And he was like "What?" And then I was like I found out that he really meant to say Mike Ditka died. He said my dick And I was then we just laughed all night cuz I was like, "Why would you say your dick died?" [laughter] I was like thinking he was like playing a Tamagotchi named the game that he named Dick. Like, "Oh, I kind of want to bang you, but my dick died." But then Mike Ditka, he's he you know, he's Chicago Bears Hall of Famer. He died and I've just been dying to tell you that story, Joe. That's really funny. That's the funniest part of Mike Ditka dying. Aw. [laughter] Well, like yeah, like I still can't get over it. It's really funny every time I say it. My dick died. My dick died. [laughter] And then that's so funny. And just your ew. Yeah, I was like I I was so grossed out. It was so weird. I was like, "Why did you do that? Like why did you have to be like that?" [laughter] I was like, "We don't do that." Nobody ever said that to me. He's dead. But yeah, that was it and then Wait, Maddie, I know I had you research, but did you look into the those little Scottsdale entrepreneurs? Yeah, wait. Can you explain it though cuz I Okay, it's been like a couple days, but I'll try to get as far as I can. Basically, there's these two girls that are going around saying they changed it now. Now they're going to Now they want to be the most famous person in Scottsdale. Before, they were going around saying that they were going to be the most They're the most famous entrepreneurs in Scottsdale. And what they were doing is being annoying AF. And they were going to like the global ambassador and going around and like saying, "Look how many people I can introduce myself to the global ambassador." Which is like if I'm sitting like at a hotel that's a thousand dollars a night, I don't want to be like somebody's like Instagram idea for a thousand dollars a night. And then so this And then this other big influencer posted he was like, "I actually thought like I was pretty special and I was like exchanged numbers with them and then I saw them go to this And table right behind me and give the same pitch." And then apparently what happened is that they had the same MLL like cult like either two years ago or four years ago. It was called phase two. Mhm. And it basically was just like how to network with high wealth people. Go to the same rooms with them. Shake hands with them. All the stuff. But then like then it would cost money to go party like their their thing and then they would get people under them. And then you know, it'd be this pyramid scheme and that was phase two. And then that went away because everybody found out what they were doing. And then now they just had another event where people It was a big networking event to be with high wealthy networking people and all this stuff. But with that, the event was free. But then I guess some people said that they exchanged information and now they're getting hit up to be part of their their membership for hundreds of dollars. So it's like the stupid cult. Membership to do what? Go to other meetings? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's like a hidden cult MLM. So that's why it's like It's a membership for them to teach you how to network with high wealth individuals so that you can make money. Okay. All right. Well, you know, Their networking stamina is incredible. I need like three business days to recover from one happy hour. To just Keep going. Ew. Yeah, but like they're just I don't know. For me, they just seem like inexperienced people that I wouldn't get advice from and it's so funny because it's like you you're clicking on like I was clicking on the comments cuz I didn't listen to the sound on, but somebody posted video today about explaining the Scottsdale entrepreneur or something like that and it was very long, so I didn't watch. But, I saw like a lot of people commenting saying that like I had a lot of fun at your event and then I clicked on them and I was like I was like they're like 60-year-old people that look like they live in basements. I was like I don't think I think these are fake followers or just the people that are I don't are just buying into the BS. Yeah, [laughter] it's probably some AI thing, right? Cuz it's like these are not the the people like yeah, they're yeah. Well, that's really weird and I think I did also see when I was researching that one of them at least is like banned from Global now. Or like Yeah, they should they should be. Yeah, they're harassing like you said high-paying people. You don't want to be like and people are going to avoid going there. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be solicited as I'm trying to relax. And honestly, we just went to Global recently for a drink and it was great. I'd going out there again. Yeah, as long as I wasn't harassed. Some people want to play mahjong there. I feel like it's a great lobby to mahjong. Well, they have a fence actually for mahjong. Do they really? Yeah, they do. They have beginner nights and stuff. At Global? Yeah, but I don't know if I would do it there. I would more so go to Postino's cuz it would cost me a lot. Their drinks are really expensive. Yeah. Yeah, even my mocktail was $17 or something. I rather It was really good though. Shut up, I paid. I know what I still have that. I'm kidding, guys. No, but it I yeah, like Postino's is having one and they're a lot cheaper. Postino's has a great happy hour. Yeah. You can get a pitcher of beer for six bucks. It used to be five. Inflation. And you can get a bottle of wine for five and a board, right? Yeah, I not a bottle, baby. A glass. Yeah, it's like it's a nice it's a heavy pour though. They're going to have me tumbling out of there. [laughter] Dude, if it was a bottle, I'd go there every day. It's like that's where I'd go pick up my god, that's where people are going to go pick up like their rehab patients. Just going to hang out there. Postino's is just a bottle. And then they're going to have a YouTube channel telling you how to pick up rehab patients. Yeah. body brokering. It's also a big Really? Yeah, it's really bad. Oh, [ ] Yeah, actually I was talking to somebody about it today where it's like somebody was body brokering, but it was like one person sent it to four people and then they were at lun- so the person was at lunch with all three people and they all got the same referral at the same time and then we're trying to re-pass it along. So, it was very interesting. Yeah. Okay, wait, tell me about your security check. Oh my gosh, okay. So, I've talked about the sandwich place All'antico Vinaio that's it started in Florence. I went when it was only one little tiny store and now they've expanded. They've even expanded to LA. So, we have to go when we go. Yeah. Joe will love it. But I got one and I was like, "Oh, I'm going to hold on to this." cuz it was morning when I was in Rome, but I was going to have a long layover at Heathrow. Which Heathrow Centurion Lounge I did not have to actually hang on to the sandwich because their food was so good in there. But I did and then I Like you just like How many hours did you hold on to the sandwich? Oh, no, it was like an it was an hour or two to like it was like 9:00 a.m. and I was getting there around 11:00. So, I was like, "I'll eat my sandwich when I land, whatever." But I get there and I forget obviously you have to go through security again when you're and I'm like oh my god, am I allowed to bring the sandwich? Because for example, you can't bring a sandwich from Italy to America cuz you can't bring cheese, soft cheeses, or meats. And I'm like, I don't know the rules here. And so I'm like, please don't flag my bag, please don't flag my bag. And my bag gets flagged, and I'm waiting. And they have this new system where you were allowed to have water. Like they were just getting people's water bottles, and they were like filled with water, putting them in this like machine, and then taking them out and being like, "You're good, you're good." So I'm like, maybe they'll just like swab my sandwich. And sure enough, they swabbed my sandwich. And then they were and the guy was like, "Is that a good sandwich?" I was like, "So good." I was ready to defend my sandwich's life. like, "Can I eat in the corner before I pass?" I literally was about I literally I was going to offer that cuz and thank god because it was the best sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. I love food. [sighs] So good. So Yeah, it looked delicious. It looked delicious. Mhm, we should petition them to come over here. Yeah, I know. I I bet if they succeed in LA, they'll keep going. When did they open in LA? I think like last month or something, like very recent. Mhm. Yeah, we should swab your sandwich with? Like you know when you get randomly selected and they like Yeah. They did that on the outside of they put it in that machine? Yeah. That's so stupid. [laughter] What did they think your sandwich was? A bomb, I don't know. A bomb. Well, you got to go random, you know? It's the innocent people that get caught. I've read the point of swabbing sandwiches. People put things in sandwiches all the time. Or like in food. When I went to Coachella, do you know how much stuff I stuffed in my food [laughter] when I was going through the campsite? Like pasta salad drugs. Yeah, I mean that [laughter] May I have your Molly? The drugs are fine. You can take drugs on airplanes, right? I guess. In your sandwich? in your body. Like you can It's not going to do anything to anyone. What? What? It's just you. You're If you take like But Yeah, but when you can't because it's illegal. That's stupid. Wait, I was like what the what the what the I feel like you really thought that we could take drugs on the airplane and it was fine. I don't see why not. I mean, it's I'm I need to get my drugs to where I'm going. I need to take them there. Usually you're allowed to have them where you started, let alone where you're going. So at what point The air? I'm sure I'm sure Brit- I'm sure Brittney Griner wish she put her marijuana in a sandwich. I'll tell you I bet she Yeah, [laughter] she Yeah. She wish she wish she put that in. I bet she did. Okay, wait, this also reminds me about my fanny pack slander. Literally, I was at Starbucks before I came here and I was walking to my car and this man just like Rage, maybe in a polo goes In a polo, very Yeah, he he looked like very Scottsdale guy. Someone who maybe would be a global ambassador of falling for a pyramid scheme. He goes looks at my fupa [laughter] and he's like, "Is there a gun in there?" You should have said yeah. I did I was like this is what I said. I said "What?" [laughter] He goes, "You are just from the New Girl. I'll tell you that." I was like he goes "Is there a gun in there?" And I was like "No." And then I went to my car and he was like, "Have a good day." Does he moonlight at Costco as well checking your ID? Is that the same guy? And is that a different woman in this picture? My god, I don't know. He but he was like had a friendly face. I don't know. It was one of those moments where I'm like I choose bear. Like I was like, "Man, maybe I should have my location on right now." Like why is this guy being weird? What Like I don't know. It was weird. It was really funny about the location thing because Maddie making a making Maddie had made a stink about not liking her location on, but when she travels, she shares it with me. And then that night she got a concussion. And then who she was with was like, "I don't try to get her to send her my her location and then I was like I have it. I'll let you know when she gets there. And they're like, "Oh, you have it?" And then I was like, actually they didn't say it like that, but I felt it like that. [laughter] But I was like, I'll let you know when she gets there. To the to the hospital? Okay. Yeah, I was like called Joe between and I was like, "Joe, like at first like we thought she had a concussion, but she's going in the ambulance." He was like, "The fuck?" And I got Yeah. [laughter] So he's like, "What the [ ] How hard did she hit her [ ] head?" is what I said. Just like messed up out. Well, we we we were hoping POTS was cured. Yeah. That's what I said. I was like, "Maybe she Did you get any bruise?" Um I had a egg the first day, but I heal really fast. No, cuz I couldn't look at my screen. Still mems girl. I know. Well, remember when I broke my face? It healed pretty fast. Yeah, that did. Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. Oh my gosh, well, also I have to say the other thing that happened on the plane is I started feeling my POTS coming on I'll cuz I I told you we were 2 hours delayed. We were 2 hours delayed on the tarmac and I was like, Oh my god. Oh, [ ] I haven't fainted on a plane before. And I hadn't got a water cuz I mixed up the time and took too long in the lounge and didn't grab a water and so then I like I'm like, "Okay, I need to like tell somebody cuz they're they're going to delay the plane even further if I [ ] faint." I'm like, "I don't know why I haven't thought this through." So the cutest little most adorable flight attendant, Lorna, Lorna from British Airways, thank you. I was like, "I I'm so sorry, but I have a condition called POTS and is there a way I could buy some water because I'm feeling like I really need some water." And she was like, "Oh, we don't sell water at all on this flight, but we give like unlimited water. I'll go get a water bottle for you and make sure I fill it the whole flight." And she got me all this water and she was so sweet and I was fine. That's awesome. I thought that story was going to be a little bit more romantic. No, but she just filled your your bottle up all flight. No, no, no. I I'm I'm one one track. No, not like that. I just felt like I thought she was going to be like a little bit more gracious towards you. No, she felt I think she just felt bad for me and didn't want someone to faint on the plane. [laughter] Yeah. No, that would suck. That'd be a great place to pass out on a plane. Yeah, but the thing is is that like if somebody passes out in a setting like that, sometimes protocol is ambulance has to come regardless. Oh. They have to land it sometimes, too. Yeah, at my wedding, somebody passed out at my venue. Long story. But regard they would not let like an ambulance had to legally come. Thankfully, I was still in the UK. So again, I would have had a free ambulance and not one here. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Totally free? Everything? Everything? Really? I got a CT, a 55-minute ambulance ride, and overnight hospital stay, not a dollar. Really? [laughter] That's so cool. Joe, I'm I'm mugging you so hard. I can't believe you didn't listen to your concussion story while we were while she was out of town. No, I saw the clips, but I nothing not even a dollar? Nothing. Not a single I offered I was asking where to pay. Damn, that must be so cool. Yeah, this the doctor was telling me today that they knew somebody in Italy same thing happened to them and they tried to pay. They were on a cruise actually and they were like, "Oh, go enjoy the rest of your cruise. You don't have to pay." I was like, "Dang." God damn. Um are you ready to feed the group chat? Yes, I have the rest of the Italy wrecks, but uh Let's get into Italy and then I'll tell you my funnies. So, for my last week in Italy, I was in a place I hadn't been before, which is Puglia. Specifically, I was in Polignano Mare, which is like in Bari. It's the back of the boot and the coast, if you're thinking of Italy. And it's super cool because, you know, Italy's so regional and so there's a lot of lot of seafood, a lot of foods I hadn't had and I got to eat at Grotto Palazzese, which is like a lot of people have seen it on Instagram or TikTok. You maybe have seen it on mine. It's just beautiful. You literally eat in a cave. It's super picturesque. It's super expensive. It's tasting menu only, and I was very curious if it was going to match the food quality was going to match the vibes, and honestly it was really good. I think it was worth it. How much is a tasting menu? 280. Kind of For Europe, it is kind of expensive, too, cuz Europe's relatively cheap. So, but and that comes with like your upcharges or no? Yeah. Oh, it came with truffles and stuff? Yeah, the only thing is if you got caviar, that was an extra 300. did you get? Five. Okay. That's good. Yeah, especially with the view. I would love it. Yeah. No, yeah, our service was incredible. I don't My only two complaints are I wrote a whole thing in the reservation about my friend's birthday, and they didn't do any birthday stuff. Just a little crazy. Um the second thing is the steak was really bad. The Italian steak, right? Hit or miss? Well, I I I guess I was just in Florence, so like I had amazing perfect great steaks, poolier steaks. I was zero for two. They I'm like, I don't know what part of the cow and what you're seasoning with, you know? The views were rare, but the steak, not so much. They just cook the hell out of it. Mhm. And it was like it felt like it just wasn't a good piece of meat. The other ones I feel like I was eating happy cows. I was so embarrassed one time my uncle asked the server if they gave him tenderloin instead. Really? He did that, and I was like, I want to die. Hide me. Hide me. Hide me. Wow. But I mean like he was kind of valid, but he [laughter] was like cuz like it didn't taste quality, but like I would never look a server in the eye and be like, "Did you switch my meat?" They put so much sauce on it, too, and I just feel like if you're putting a bunch of sauce on the steak, like you're Yeah, if it's all like a stir-fry. Yeah. Okay, the other place I ate, I had the best pasta of the trip. It's called Il Quadrifoglio, and this place was such I was so [ ] annoyed cuz I had a reservation, and I go in and he goes, "No reservations." And I'm like I like I'm confused. I pull up my confirmation. I'm like, "I have one right here." And he's looking at it. He's all confused. He's getting his friend. He's pointing at it. And he And then he starts laughing at me. He's like, "Madam, this is Il Quadrifoglio in northern Italy." Like I'm an idiot. And I'm like, "How did I do that?" So I went He's like, "It's 40-minute wait." We're We're already planning on eating here. We got all excited about the menu. So we're like, "Okay." Um so we wait, but I like start looking. I'm like, "How would I have made that mistake?" Just knowing how I make reservations. So I pull it up, and right under where it is on the map, it says, "Reserve a table." And sure enough, you can reserve a table. So their reserve a table for their restaurant is linked to the fork of a different restaurant. Did you tell them? Yes. And he goes, "No, no, no." And [laughter] I'm like so irritated. He just gaslights the [ ] out of me. I literally pull it up, and he's like, "See, watch." And he shows me again, and he makes a whole reservation. He goes, And then I hear three other people say they have reservations, and he do the same spiel. So I'm like, "I don't know what this is. I think they just don't want to fix it." So he walked himself through to the point that you got to. an act that he does every single day. Yes. No reservations. And then he Then he pretends. Yeah. Kind of funny. [laughter] I think it's a bit. It has to be. It has to be a bit. Like I think they love like We should go tomorrow. Joe, are you on free? No, I'm No, this whole month is hell. I'm working. Yeah, unfortunately. Joe, we should all get another credit card, Chase Sapphire. Yeah, buddy. Chase Sapphire? Yeah, I'll give you my referral link. Wait, what? I What does that one do? A bunch of travel. You get like Even by signing up, you get a bunch of travel benefits and free flights. better than the Amex one? Well, like they're different perks. I feel like when we have a business, we're probably going to do both. Bougie. Like we'll get like our points for something like our dining so we'll do dining or you know, we'll we'll split how we divvy our big things. Yeah, you want the rose Amex for dining, other travel stuff Chase. Mhm. Okay. Like we'll we'll take like concierge for Amex but we'll probably book our tickets through Chase or something, yeah. So many perks I don't know about. We got you. Thanks. Yeah. Appreciate it. Does all Chase link with Southwest though? I don't know. I have a Southwest card but I need to get out of that eventually one day, ladies. Okay, wait, I'm sorry. I didn't finish about the pasta cuz I was talking about that guy. So it's a local style of doing it. It's like a spaghetti and they char it intentionally. So it's like already perfectly cooked al dente pasta charred and then a [ ] ton of chili, chili pepper and with the tomato sauce. So it's almost like a classic pomodoro but really good spice. Like my friend who was really good with spice was like turning red eating it. And I literally we've we've all been sharing and trying everything the whole trip. I literally like housed it. Like I wasn't even like don't pass go collect $200. I was just sitting there like having a moment. I didn't even share a bite. Thank god someone else got it because I just ate the whole thing and was like are you guys here with me? I went into a trance. Mhm, that sounds yummy. It was so good. I love like a little bit of like charred. I'm when I make like my hamburger pasta because it's ditalini, I like do lower amount of chicken broth and I leave it in there so that the bottom gets a little bit crispy and they clump together. It's so good that way. I definitely want to try to figure out how to make this. Like delicious. Mhm. I love Southern Italy food and their tomatoes just [ ] smack. What What about the other one? Terrazza? Okay, so Terrazza Monachile, they're trying to be like the the restaurant. They're the only other one that's like on the beach and you have a view and they have a tasting menu option and pretty similar price points, but their steak was even worse. Oh, no. Actually, a lot of their food was just like fine. Are they tasting menu? There you you can choose. You can do a la carte. Let's do the round up. How many tasting menus did you have in 4 weeks in Italy? You want to guess? Oh, okay. Eight. 10. Just one. One? I don't usually do tasting menus in Italy. I like going in the hole in the wall trattorias. Well, I don't know. I don't know. Food is I like all food so like if it's not if it's a taste menu or trattoria, I know it's going to be good over there. No, no, so so true. But yeah, that's just that that time I didn't. Just the one. Yeah. Um what was the one that you said was like the tourist trap? Was it one of these? No, it was in Florence. So everybody recommends this. If you go on Facebook or Facebook Why the [ ] did I say Facebook? TikTok and look up what's the best restaurant in Florence? I even imagine I haven't looked at Trip Advisor, but I imagine it's like up there on Trip Advisor. It's called La Giostra. Mhm. And vibes amazing. You're like in a wine cave basically. But the food is just mid and it's more expensive than a lot of the food there and people say it's the best restaurant. And the best thing I had there was chicken liver. Hm. There is yeah, there is something something I hate when a vibe when they have a great vibe and they have a bad menu, too. I feel like it's one of those things where somebody has never been to Italy, they go there first and they're like, "Oh my god, this is the best pasta I've ever had." It's one of those things where if you've been spoiled by having like ex- insanely amazing stuff, you're like, "Oh, this is mid." so I'm going to love it. I'll be just fine. It's not a big deal. I'll love everything. Okay, so I went to Harry and Izzy's, which is like this new restaurant that opened it's in Indianapolis. It's Peyton Manning is a co-owner of it. It opened at like the new Paradise Valley Mall, but I think it's perfect for over there because I went in and it was huge. It really what it embodied to me was Capital Grille if it got a facelift. Ooh. And we all know Capital Grille like needs one. It's like so So bad. It's a good lunch spot. It has a variety of like menu items. The only thing is okay, their famous shrimp cocktail is smothered in the cocktail sauce. And I like spice, but I just like don't think it's a like presentation-wise I actually don't think it looks good. I don't think it's a sexy twist at all all like [laughter] No. Like I don't I don't know and it's that's their signature that they rave about. But what was really good, but it didn't photograph beautifully, was lobster escargot. Yum. So basically it's build-your-own crostinis. Oh, that sounds fun. And it was delicious and then I had French onion and well-priced because I just went to Zinc and French onion is like $25 there now. Ridiculous. Ridiculous. It's like $6 for the best of your life in France. Oh no, I'm being that Europe person. Yeah, stop. [laughter] Don't do that again. But like I know they take 24 hours to make it, but $25 for a cup of French onion soup, come on. 24 hours because you caramelize onions to make a broth. It's not like you're doing hard labor. Like I make my French onion in a long time, but it still would not cost that much. Especially if it's like an onion in a bowl. Yeah. So there's just $13, great price. I had a crisp sauvignon blanc and a nice fat cheesecake. But it was just like a very nice lunch, but what I like about it is like a very big happy hour spot and they have happy hour from 3:00 to 6:00 every day. So, I think it might be like my new like don't want to drop home, might have a glass of wine by myself like spot cuz it's just close enough and it's cute. I really like the vibe. Yay. Um on Friday, my husband and I were supposed to have a family date night. So, we told my son we're like we're going to pick you up. We're going to take you to a restaurant and we're going to all go to dinner together. And then he and then I get a call from my husband like 1:30 and he's like the he's like, "Hey, golf is like really slow today." I'm like, "Okay." And he's like, "I'll make it up to you." And I was like, "Oh, you you you're bailing. You're bailing. Well, I have our son in the car and he thought we were going to go eat." [laughter] And then so then I was like, "Oh, all right. Fine." So, I hang up and I'm like, "Okay, well, we were going to go to Costco, but I was like, "Do you want to go to HomeGoods for a little?" So, we got to HomeGoods for a little. We went to Costco. And then we were going to go get dinner and I like had no idea. I just started driving and then I saw that like Chili's was super busy. I was like "Fuck it. Let's go to Chili's." It was so packed. We went in. I haven't been there for a while, but they've got a very young rocker look to all the employees now. They're all wearing like they're not renditions of it, but they're all wearing like shirts that look like they were made in the Dare era. And it's Chili's. And then like everybody Honestly, I feel like Chili's has like a really strong like economy vibe. Everybody was drinking and enjoying themselves, you know, when you look around. It's like going to Chelsea's Kitchen. And then I hadn't gone home yet and I thought I was just going to take my son home and go with Eric. So, I didn't have a backpack or anything for my son. So, Chili's has iPads at every table and they charge you $2.99 to play. Oh, really? And my kids ever played Fruit Ninja and mom had a margarita. He sat next to [laughter] me and then I showed him like a mozzarella cheese pull and we had like the best night together. That's really precious. This was so fun. Yeah, and then he he had so much fun and then we But I had this funny story about Chili's that I remembered was that when I was a server years ago, there was this guy I worked with and I was like, "Where'd you work with before you worked here?" And he was like, "I worked at this I worked at Chile's in Paradise Valley." And I was like, "Chile's? I don't know Chile's and I live near there." And he's like, "No, [ ] like Chili's, like Applebee's." And I was like, "Oh, you're Why did I give it an accent? Chile's? [laughter] Guy, I was like, "You worked at Chile's? I don't know Chile's." It's hard to say it, too. And he was like, "No, I worked at like Chili's." My god. That's so funny. Yeah, but you guys, I think I spent like 40 bucks at Chili's. That's not bad, though. Uh no, it was great. I had to pay for like the game. They charged like 209. I know I tip I know I tipped on top of that. But like I had the mozzarella sticks, he had a kids meal, we had a pizookie, and a margarita. I used to love the strawberry margaritas. I have to say, guys, pizookie was not it. When they You can taste really bad ice cream. Like that really shitty vanilla that doesn't taste like vanilla. Yeah, like schoolyard vanilla. Yeah. The kind that used to come with like sticks. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it was like reminiscent of that like it was reminiscent of that vanilla trauma. Is Applebee's the place with the the blondie? W- Where has What What has the blondie? The The The blond brownie with ice cream? BJ's? I don't know the Does Signa- BJ's has pizookies. I don't know the signature desserts. I just know that like Outback has the boss awesome blossom, right? Or bloomin' onion. Bloomin' onion. And which one's awesome blossom? I've never even heard of that. It's a bloomin' onion, but it's another name. Oh, really? Yeah. I don't know. Yeah, it was like blah blah. And then like my family used to go to TGI Fridays every Friday. Oh, I used to love it. place still around? I think there are some. I used to love it. I As a kid I went there, I think for my birthday cuz I wanted a dirt cup so bad cuz they had the dirt cups. I'm actually for Halloween party making dirt cup brownies and I'm excited. Did you put like the worm in there and everything? Yeah. Yeah, it's cool. White people stuff that I didn't have growing up. You didn't go to school? They didn't They make you guys dirt cups? It's not that like for instance so my my friend Alonzo, he he grew up in his He grew up in Spain and his mom was from Pensacola, Florida. And so he said in Halloween like his mom would make him like the dirt cups and stuff, too. And but like he had an American mom. I don't Asian mom. I had to watch people do it. Oh no, my parents had me make me dirt cups. I had those in school. The teachers would spend their own money and make us dirt cups. You You'd get like they'd spend their own money and only you'd get it or everybody? Only me. No, everyone. [laughter] Yeah. Yeah. Awkward. Here's some dirt for you, Joe. Joe Dirt. [laughter] Thanks. Sorry. Um wait, are we even Okay, well, I guess that's feed the group chat actually. Are you ready to wine and dine? Yes, let's do it. Okay, I want to hear the story. Oh my gosh. Okay, so my wine is airlines that make you wait to pick your seat until like the week or so before. Isn't that just only like basic economy? Yeah. It'll never be a wine for me. [laughter] I will always pay to pick my seat. Well, no. I messed that up. Yeah, cuz like you know How American like if you get the basic basic economy, you're basically standby. Like they don't give you your seat until the day of or something like that. And then if you pick the basic basic economy and you have somebody flying with you that's 14 years old or younger, then they'll make sure your seats are together, but otherwise you buy two seats, you're SOL. You're basically standby. Yeah, I know. So this was just the airline that did the like you have to when you have to like check in a week or two before and that's when you pick your seat. And cuz I I didn't get like the most basic one, but I was in Italy like so I just wasn't paying attention. air Italia? No, it was British Airways. And I just didn't remember to pick my seat and then I was checking in and I was like, "Oh my god, I'm in a middle seat for 11 hours." [ ] And then I'm like, "Okay, what can I do to pay an upgrade whatever?" Totally full flight. I'm like, "Fuck." So [gasps] I was like thinking about the worst flight I ever had. I was with somebody and I was in the middle seat and it was to Japan and I was like, "You know what? If I could survive that flight in a middle seat like I can do this, no worries." And I it was fine. This is actually the first time though that I haven't slept on a flight at all. Oh. Welcome to the mortal world. Yeah, it was weird. She was sending me pictures of friends and I was like, "You're watching?" How do you How do you text on a plane? Uh the internet. Oh. It's all like I'm not laughing. [laughter] I'm not laughing. I like you, but like the whole thing like the internet. I like [laughter] okay, [ ] I didn't know you could do that. I didn't know you could And he's just like so it's two different greeting [laughter] levels. I had no idea. Yes, with your phone. It's pretty cool. Plugged in. To the internet, huh? Yeah. Well, a lot places give you free Wi-Fi now. Mhm, they did. Airplanes? Yeah. Mhm. An airplane is the thing that has wings on it. That flies in the sky. Yeah. The people It's bigger than a bird though. Oh, I know what you're talking about. The metal thing, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's metal. Good job. Thanks. Okay, go on. You You didn't nap? Oh yeah, I did it. So I Is this when you're going to pass out? Well, okay. So that was the other thing is of all the time to be in a middle seat to have a tarmac delay that takes your 10-hour flight in a middle seat to a 12-hour flight in the middle seat. So, the paws out was going to happen. The other thing is the air wasn't on because we were like grounded. So, it was like hot. I I was dehydrated, and I just was like, "Shoot." So, yeah. I it was before we took off. But Okay. This is the part where I'm like, "Am I the asshole?" I think I'm not. I'm pretty certain I'm not. I think this is actually insane behavior. So, as a middle person, I personally feel like I'm entitled to the armrest. We had this conversation, and you are. You are. Yeah. We had this conversation. Yeah. Immediately, both of the people next to me, so I was next to two old people, an old woman and an old man. Were they married? I hate when couples split up. Th- They were not married. I used to do that, but it was it was the point was we would switch if someone in the middle uh Like it was trying to get it so no one was in the middle. It was like a strategy thing. But Okay, so it they weren't married. It was just two separate people. But they immediately had their arms on the thing. And I'm kind of like, "Okay, whatever. That's annoying, but what am I going to do?" So, I kind of just I'm like the whole entire flight I'm pretty like folded like this. Then they turn the lights off in the cabin, and girly pop decides that she wants to sleep. She [ ] puts up the armrest.
Oh, yeah. You guys are not You guys are not related. No, you don't do that. N- Not only that, she puts up the armrest and puts her leg under my seat. W- What? She crosses her leg over like over, so it's on to her foot is on top of my backpack cuz and then straight up leans on me. I'm sorry, is she Italian? Is she American? What's her deal? She's American. Wake her ass up. W- This isn't a cultural difference. Wake the [ ] up. You're not doing any of that. And so I literally I'm like All right, this is the time where I have to be an advocate and so I go Excuse me and I put the armrest down and then stand in my little pencil Chop her leg off with it. And she was so pissed. I could tell she was like so grumpy and huffy and puffy and to the point where I'm like Am I rude? That wasn't rude, right? She was rude. That's crazy. That's actually crazy work. Oh, so many things. I don't even want people I love touching me for 10 hours, let alone Is this the window seat lady? Or aisle seat? No, worse. Middle seat in the middle of the plane. No, the No, [clears throat] she You're in the middle seat and she's a window or she's an aisle. No, she's an aisle cuz it's I'm in the middle I know, I know, I know. That's what he was asking what she was in. she was in, which side she was on cuz she had the window. That's your pillow. Oh, yeah, no. If you have the aisle, you're supposed to like stand up. You have leg room. That's why So I'm confused. She Was she leaning towards you with her leg or she was leaning towards the aisle? Okay, so first she did the leg thing first and then goes like this to use me as a pillow. What? [laughter] I also ended up after I put the armrest down, I ended up also putting like the pillow that they give you right there, too. And she still ended up kind of like leaning on the armrest and the pillow. Like she was touching me the whole flight. Mhm. Mhm. And again, I would like What did Mr. Gentleman say? Did he like give you a sweet sweet old Italian man that was just so nice and every time I got up he said, "It's nice to stretch." I'm like, I love you. And he was like, "Did you get up and pee?" I did Oh, yeah. I was like I need to get up. Well, and I drank a lot of water cuz I did not want to pass out. You should have been in front of her. Give her a little taste of your medicine. [ ] you want to know what a good fight is about? I'm about to make you emergency land. Mhm. [laughter] Can you imagine if like we were on a flight with Maddie and she made us emergency land? No, you guys would take care of me. You'd be like, "This happens the time. I would just Weekend at Bernie's her ass. would hide you. We wouldn't even tell them. Yeah, I would put sunglasses on her face and say she's sleeping. strap you in. 100% Weekend at Bernie's. That's that's so like comforting to know. Yeah. You better start convulsing if you need medical attention on a plane. There's no way. There's just no way. I'll I'll I'll get her in a little bit sooner than you. [laughter] You better hope Bree's there, dude. We are not turning this plane around. Can't do it again. You can convulse, you can convulse and I'll get you help. I'll get you help. Okay, my wine is actually justice for my friend. I told her I would wine them for her because I feel like you'd understand. So, my girlfriend works in a kitchen and one day I was just like blown up and I had a 15 like in 15 TikToks sent to me and I was like, what? I was like, damn girl, you were click-happy right now. She's like, I have nothing left to do. I have one arm. And I was like, what? And she was like, I she a manager incompetently put something and she got taken out by a 30-lb jar of feta and it tore her rotator cuff. That sucks. I would be pissed. Oh my god. I would be so I hope I'd get an attorney so quick. I'd be like, Like I fired. Like I got to fired. Yeah, that's insane. No, she was taken care of pretty well. She said she said like she's been getting like like cuz it's a she works on like this luxury ranch. So, she's has a PT there. They have cuz I told her I was like, worker's comp all this stuff. But she said they're basically giving her the workers They're doing everything like if I was ever an injury, if I had it in a luxury place that could rehab me, I'm I'm fine. No. And she honestly she got a I would be like I I would be so mad. That I I have got a promotion out of it. She got his job. Man, they're really doing everything not getting Yeah, because [laughter] they know
I had shoulder surgery. That is one of the most debilitating She's to need to go with some shockwave after. Man, tough. Yeah, for her for being a bigger person. I at this point in my life. I would at one point in my life, not at this point in my life. I would not. You know like that the white pale buckets, like the Home Depot buckets. It was like a Home Depot bucket but white with feta. And then feta cheese. That's horrible. Can you imagine? Just for your friend. I got taken out by a bucket of cheese. How'd you tear your ACL? Skiing? No, cheese. Yeah. Feta. I don't even good cheese. I'm feta'd up. A good feta is pretty good. I mean, it's no pecorino. It's my bottom-tier cheese. But that has nothing to do with this. Your bottom-tier cheese? What's your bottom-tier cheese? Yeah, no. I want to know what your bottom-tier cheese is. Feta. Really? Yeah. It's gross. Vel- Velveeta for me. Ooh, Velveeta's so good. No, I actually [laughter] No, I don't No, actually it's not bottom-tier for me. You know what, you guys? I really like cheeses. Nacho is my bottom. No, I [ ] dip a hot dog in there. Mhm. Like a chili cheese dog. Oh my god. You guys You guys want to know where I have the best chili cheese like beside like fast food chili cheese that like you don't care. But like we're bad. Del Taco. What? They have chili cheese hot that we have? No, Del Taco does chili cheese crinkle fries. Oh, I bet you can put that on the burger there. Their burger's pretty good. Yeah, Del Taco's had chili cheese forever and it's one of those like nobody goes to Del Taco cuz I've had their tacos before. it's not. I don't know how a Taco Bell taco can taste better than a Del Taco taco, but it does. And I don't know what they do, but The fact that you're talking about Del Taco's burgers and Their burger's good. Their burger's good? Yeah. I like their burger. I don't I don't mind Listen, guys. I [ ] I [ ] with the California like fast food. So like Del Taco, Rally's, and Wienerschnitzel. Like love them. I don't think I've ever had Wienerschnitzel. Oh, I'm a corn Like I grew up on corn dogs. Oh, I don't like corn dogs. Yeah. No. Oh, I do like corn dogs. Mhm. Yeah. corn dogs? You ever seen those things? Yeah, I had them in Korea. going out with those. Slap. Me and my kid had corn dogs for lunch 2 weeks ago. Oh, there's so much going on. And you can you can find a happy medium. Yeah? No, yeah. I can take you to a place that Let's do it. Yeah. Family trip. Yeah. Corn dog. I'll mask your face up. Mask my face Oh, cuz the Yeah, cuz I don't want to get you deep throwing it, so I won't let people know. No, I want them to know. Okay. Oh. I want them to know my abilities. Okay. I thought you were straight, but [laughter] I guess maybe It's just one of my many abilities. That's all. Okay. Now I know. The Aftertaste podcast is brought to you by Amara and Associates. Are you ready to spill the matcha? Yes. Okay. We do Okay. Have you followed Kelly versus Arta Elezaj? I'm so [ ] living. Where's my phone cuz I took screenshots. Please, please, please. It might be Wait. Tweet, tweet, tweet.
Okay, let's see. Photos, photos, photos. Let's see the screenshot. Okay. So, Kelly said Okay. So, Kelly posts over the weekend. She goes, "Just drove all the way Wait. Actually, sorry about that. Kelly Clarkson has beef with this place called Arte de Play, which is a art gallery, right? In Brooklyn? Yeah. Okay. So, Kelly Clarkson posts on X. She says, "Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad. And sorry, guys, it's hard for me to read cuz it's kind of cut off. Okay, just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn't afford it and was told to find something comparable for me. Wow, dude, you're an idiot and just lost a huge sale. But you also go check out Arte de Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts' character in Pretty Woman. For sure, check it out. Thumbs down." So, this got like some traction and people were like, "I'm so pissed off for you." All this stuff, right? But then, why it got even bigger is because Arte de Play this was their response. "Yesterday, Kelly Clarkson visited us in Brooklyn and inquired about {quote} Molly, a one-of-a-kind singing and dancing bird automation who plays an important role in the magic shows we host here. Molly is a permanent attached Molly is permanently attached to the wall and isn't for sale. However, the negative experience Kelly described on Twitter would not resonate with anybody who's ever felt judged in a shop. Arte de Play, whether someone comes in to purchase or simply look around for a while, they're equally welcome to and we greet that and we greet everyone who walks in the door with the invitation and something's cut off, but it says things up and play. And they do many safer hours and work on our puzzles, games, and toys. Imagine our surprise when our small local business suddenly was attacked by 8 million people who have never visited our store. It's been a surreal experience to focus on such widespread out outrage after just one mention by a celebrity. Thanks to all of our friends for their support and welcome to all the curious folks who have discovered us amidst the drama. We're going to keep our heads down and hopefully we can clear things up with Kelly someday. As a talented popular singer once said, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. So, they No crumb. They quoted her own song in a rebuttal, which Kelly, go off, baby. Go off. So, Kelly just I'm not going to read it all cuz it's even longer, but Kelly basically goes, you guys are a liar and takes a picture of the art and then zooms in the price tag and is like, well, why is there a $15,000 price tag? Like, you got She's like, you don't get like a pass today. She goes, not today. And Kelly is like so nice to be on Kelly's like [ __ ] list and to ruffle her feathers is like a really, really, really big deal. Yeah, ruffle ruffle her $15,000 singing bird feathers. I I think If you got to walk into an art gallery, you can afford something. Especially Brooklyn, you know how many poor looking people there are? Well, also, they're like to get Kelly to like have to do a post like that, like she must have been treated very badly. Cuz I listened to their rebuttal, I was like like the first time I read it, I was like, oh, I kind of feel bad for them because yeah, a giant celebrity and like that that that story makes sense to me and I said no crumbs cuz Oof, that that the way they ended it with her own lyric, but then when she came back with her seats, Nope. Yeah, let me see. Her her thing was Let's see. Yeah, she basically says how like they said it told her it was $15,000. And she said, "That's the narrative you want to go with?" So, I mean, team Kelly. Team Kelly. It's team Kelly. What about you, Joe?
You're thinking about whose team you're on? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. It's hard to be on anyone's team. One person is selling a bird for $15,000, and one is mad you can't buy something. It's hard to be on it. I think she's more mad about the way she was treated. Yeah, not that it wasn't for sale, but they Because it had a price tag. They treated her like she was a poor person, and there's nothing really worse than being treated like you can't afford something when you feel like [ __ ] Yeah, there are other things that are worse, actually. Yeah, and we [clears throat] can also just like treat poor people better. Yeah, yeah, that's [laughter] a good That's a really good point. I'm poor. Help me. Well, yeah, but they treated her like a peasant, and I I you know, but I'm going to be back in using her words against her though, like I got to go with that. Could No, I did too if they weren't lying. No, yeah, if you if you had a leg to stand on. Yeah. But if you didn't, just say sorry. Or you could have just said like "That is not a representation of us. Like we have talked to that employee, and like we are so sorry. Like we would never." Yeah, you know, like just take some. Okay. This is really fun. I have to tell you about my rabbit hole for Spell the Month. Okay.
Jennifer Meyer and Jeff Ogunlesi I think that's how you say his last name. Tied the knot in a Hawaiian ceremony officiated by ex-husband Tobey Maguire. Okay, so I saw this last night and I was like Why are you smirking at me? Yeah. That's bizarre, right? It's crazy. I saw that, too, and I was like, I don't even want my ex-husband watching my Instagram stories, like let alone giving my microphone at my wedding. Yeah, but I did a little deep dive because I just thought the whole thing was precarious. Did anybody's Did you see their guest list? Yeah. Bezos First of all, they got married in Hawaii, which I thought was weird because when I was deep diving, she married Tobey in Hawaii. So, I was like, can't you just get married somewhere else? But, so the guest list included like Bezos, Kris Jenner, Kate Hudson, Courteney Cox, Brad Pitt, not Brad Pitt, uh Leonardo DiCaprio. Oh, yeah, yeah. Felicia Leo and him are like good friends way back, and then they were in that poker ring together. Mhm. Back in the day. So, I'm like, okay, like things are I need to click a little bit more on this. Like, I feel like there's more to this story. So, I click on the husband first, Jeff. Jeff is 34, Jennifer's 49. Nothing wrong with cougarness. She just had their baby a year ago or maybe this year. But, his dad is a billionaire, has one of the top little top investment firms, and sold to black BlackRock last year for $13.2 billion. Well. And so, he's a he's an attorney {slash} like person. And then this guy, Jeff, he is the president and CEO of some type of record company that Young Thug is Young Thug was at the wedding. Young Thug is like his artist. And then I'm like, okay, so why is this billionaire marrying Jennifer Meyer then, who's like a little bit cougar. Like I'm just a little curious. So then I click on Jennifer Meyer. No. Her daddy has been the president of NBC Universal for 25 years.
Cuz then I was like stalking her jewelry line and I was like, "Oh my gosh, she's got so many rich famous people wearing her jewelry and all this stuff." I was like, "Who is this person?" But just like the most Oh, no wonder why Bezos was there cuz they're about to be the most powerful couple of money around. Nepo squared. Like I like that nepo gold dream of money. They probably bought the island that weekend. Imagine like if you sold the I was I was reading it and the dad sold to BlackRock for 13.2 billion. And he got $2 billion in cash and then the rest was in equity and stocks. And I was like, "Oh my god, 2 billion of cash transferred to my bank would be insane." That would even make sense. So many commas. I know. I would just be like, "You get a million, you get a million." All my friends. What uh Bill Gates' ex-wife, she keeps donating and her net worth is not decreasing at all. Yeah, that's what they should do. Yeah. So I just saw like everything about that was so fascinating. I just was on a deep rabbit hole last night being like, "Oh my god, and they're that rich? And they're that rich?" That's So now it kind of makes sense like Toby, like why wouldn't you officiate? Like keep them your friends. Yeah, but I was going to say that kind of emotional maturity is Yeah, and I think he's close to the dad because they met when he was filming Seabiscuit at Universal Studios. That's how Jennifer Meyer met her husband. So fun fact guys cuz I never thought I'd be deep diving Spider-Man, but his life is fascinating. Is he single? Yeah, he is. Well, I thought he was smooching that one chick. Something Spice. Oh, Ice Spice. I did hear that. There's a picture of them smooching. Look at you with the pop culture. Yeah, it was on Instagram. Wow, I didn't know. Okay, well, like it was weird because like the headline the other day was like he uh Tobey Maguire legally divorces uh strange wife. Like he'd been separate Like they've been separated for like 10 years, but never legally divorced. And then they literally But that was the headline literally like 3 weeks ago and then she's in Hawaii. So I think they would maybe an impromptu wedding, too. Man. Like it's official. Let's party. A divorce party? It's a wedding with your divorced husband officiating? Weird. They must be like I mean, Leo would Well, cuz I know Leo and Tobey are like really good friends, so it was like like she gets to share the friends in the divorce, too? Like that's what piqued my curiosity. I You just don't really see a lot of like the husband's friends at the new wife's wedding. Mhm. True. And then I was like, why are there so many rich people there? [laughter] And then I always said It was fun. I think I might look up more. [laughter] Okay. Next up is HBO has a few announcements for their show. So they're going to do five episodes of Girls. Oh, we saw that. And then they're going to do eight episodes of Crazy Rich Asians part two. I'm so excited. I loved Crazy Rich Asians. One of the few movies I've watched. I've never read it. It's always on the plane. I don't know why it's like the ultimate airplane Yeah. show movie. But I'm excited for the new eight-part series. I'm excited for Girls. I'll have to watch maybe three episodes because it'll be too painful to watch it all because it's like a lot, but I Did you watch that? I watched some of it in college. Oh, really? I feel like it was so good. And like Adam Driver and all that. I was I was such a like Broad City, Sex and the City, Broad City, Sex and the City, and then like Girls and L And I really like that. Oh yeah, L word. I really like that the girl from Get Out. Just going back to girls cuz I don't want to remember her for Get Out. Yeah, yeah. [laughter]
Okay. Lastly, Dancing with the Stars. I did watch. You did? I feel like it wasn't as good as last week. [laughter] Well, I I get what you mean though in that with when you only watch the dances, you miss all the little stuff. Yeah, you miss like a little bit of clips because I feel like in this show, sometimes I feel like the judges don't always add value, but I feel like in this show, the judges really kind of make the show a little because I feel like Derek is so So, you know the girl that used to recap Love Island, Coach Jackie? So, like they have Derek and Coach Jackie have fake Tik Tok beef. It's really funny. Like she's like, "Get off my screen." Like cuz he keeps posing in the camera behind and like he's doing it for her now and they're commenting on each other's stuff and it's really cool. Cute. I wish I could have Tik Tok beef with Derek Hough. Yeah, and then Eric last night we were watching finishing it and then like Derek was giving like his normal critique like and then Eric was like, "Is he a dancer?" And I was like,
"Yeah." [laughter] I was like, "Him and his sister are like the show." I was like, "And I didn't know this until recently, he won the most. Derek won six times." Wow. Yeah. But um did you like any dances? Well, I really like Shera's dance. I Do you think it's because Okay, during the same night they were having the virtual virtual reality T awards? Do you think it's why nobody voted during that one hour? Cuz voting is kookoo. I'm really confused by the voting. The voting system's stupid. Should we just eliminate it? I just feel like I feel like you shouldn't I feel like you shouldn't dance and vote in the same night. No. Especially when there's East Coast and West Coast times. And voting should just be like it should be like a 24-hour period on an app or a website like Love Island. Why have they not switched it to the Love Island way? Because every like it's interactive, it's great. We could like pick songs for them like They need to They need to We're going to post this clip so they can pop their [ ] up. Yeah. Agree. Yeah, and just justice for Sierra. Really? I feel like everything else like nothing really like I was like are you going to send Guillermo home yet? Like I I was going to say what are your thoughts on that? Last year there was somebody just like him Andy and he was cute for so long and then it's like okay you're taking up a precious spot of somebody else and let the girl Whitney just rest her dogs. You could see her choreography is like a lot less and she's just shimmying around. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. And somebody posted the other day was like everybody keeps like promoting their partner like vote for us vote for us and they're like Whitney hasn't done that once. [snorts] [laughter] She's like please stop voting for us. Remember the first time where they did the elimination and they weren't sent home? They were face she was like Not us? Now she's like [ ] why'd you guys give me them? Are you ready for the palate cleanser? Yeah. Okay, so in honor of the really hilarious SNL opening by Shane Gillis about women being [ ] at the gym. Oh, I didn't even watch it because I saw that there was that he was I saw D- What? Is it David or Daniel Levy? I don't know. The guy from Schitt's Creek? Yeah, I don't know. I just know him as the Schitt's Creek guy. He like posted and was like it was very you and I was like ah I don't want to sit through a Shane Gillis skit. He literally just says women just like [ ] at the gym. Have you seen their shorts? They look like vapes. Uh I don't know. Vapes? The colors they're colorful and show their butt hole. Interesting. Yeah. I haven't seen it either. It's not It's It's just like not funny. It you know, I mean calling women [ __ ] as a joke is like I saw a Tik Tok and she's like, "Where'd you get that from? The Bible?" Like It's not funny. No one looks at the Bible for their source of comedy. They're going to have Drewski. Next I don't know what's next week, but he's going to be perform He's going to be Oh, SNL? Yeah. It's the first online content creator. Interesting. I feel like he'll succeed though. Yeah. Well, so anyway, in honor of that, I wanted to do I wanted to do a like audacity ranking system. So one is mildly annoying, a five is surrender your microphone. So like what's the audacity scale of this kind of weird misogyny? So I'll just go first. When he says, "Wow, you actually know what you're talking about." after asking you a question about your own profession.
Five. I had somebody who I will tell you guys off record, but you guys will know exactly who and you guys will be like, "Oh, you little shit." Anyways, I like marketed to him one time and then he after like I don't know, 20 minutes, he was like "You know, you've come a long way. You're so professional now. Like you you're so good at your job." Like, "Fuck off, you little shit." I have guesses. [clears throat] No, you won't get this. It's the fat [ __ ] Yep, I said that. Okay, he says he prefers women without makeup while pointing to a woman without wearing make Oh, wait. While pointing to a woman wearing makeup. Okay. I feel like this is like almost all men do this. So I'm going to go like a two. Yeah, I would be like, "You're dumbass." Yeah, but I just think men just like don't understand makeup and they think they're like white knighting by being like, "Oh, you don't need makeup." But really it just Well, okay, there's a difference. The point doesn't annoy me. Telling me that he prefers women without makeup, that's the point that annoys me and that's like a surrender your mic because you're not going to tell me what to do with my face. Yeah. You know. Yeah. Mhm. Okay, he refers to watching his own child as babysitting. Wait, why do Hate the sentence. He refers to watching his own child like as babysitting. Oh, yeah, I'm just going to dump him. [laughter] Yeah, surrender your mic. Yeah. It's like a babysit my oof. Yeah, such an egg. Even I've heard wives say that their husband's going to babysit. I'm like, You mean watch your kid? Like I understand like the natural progression of saying like, I need like I always ask to take a shower because that's just what your life is. But like no, not the other one. Yeah. [laughter] Okay, he calls his exes crazy. Five.
It's only a middle of the skull to me because yeah, good, they're done with your life. Well, my thing is if how crazy are they though? No, what if all your exes are crazy, is it because you like abuse them like Well, it depends though because it's like for me I kind of read it as like you do like them crazy. [laughter] That's how I read it like, "Oh yeah, well, I get it, you're with me." Okay, that's a good positive flip. Okay, he repeats your idea in a meeting and gets praised and credit. Oh, I just like actually cut him off and like, "Yeah, I remember when we talked about that." Yeah, that's good cuz like I I've I've had that happen so many times where someone has not listened to me and then when someone else repeats it, they listen. That drives me. I'm like, I I just said Oh, my work just implemented some rule that was my idea 1 year ago and then they were saying how great it was in a meeting, and I actually didn't say anything. And I recommended this idea a year ago, and they just came up with it today. Or yesterday. It was a little like a 10% variation of a title, but I literally did the same thing. Oops. He orders a burger, you order a salad. He says, "Come on, eat something." You both order burgers. He says, "Are you going to finish all of that?" Murder. What? I can't believe you even wrote that down. It was really difficult, too. Like, he doesn't not even take like I'm never talking to you again. Yeah, I like my husband would never do that because he's seen me scarf down like in and out. Like, I can do it one-handed before I get home. Well, and also, he should be like impressed and excited about that, not weird and body police-y. Yeah. Yeah. He says you take too long to get ready, but has never once looked up the address of where you're going and when you need to leave. Wait. He says, "Are you ready?" But he's never looked it up? He says you take too long to get ready. Like, you're getting ready, and he's like, "You're taking so long." But he's never looked up the address of where you're going or what time you need to leave. It's annoying. It's like a two just because I deal with this every day, so I have a little high threshold. I was going to say, I feel like it's a smaller offense, but it's just like Cuz it's really annoying cuz I get ready, and then they're waiting for me, and then I have everything on, and then like oh, wait, let me go pee. Let me go grab this. Let me go do that. It's like Why don't you Like, when I'm ready, you need to be in the car already. Like, you need to be waiting for me with AC on and probably a drink even. Like, car bar. It could be water. Like, it could be water, but like ice, please. He says your favorite reality TV show is mindless, but he has strong opinions on college sports. I hate that. I hate that so much. I think it's a five again. I'm like we're both watching kind of garbage. To me it once again like I'm interpreting it as like it's a two three for me because I'm like it is mindless and I love it. It is like and I love it. Yeah, I I guess to me it's not like I'm fine acknowledging that it's mindless and I love it but don't act like your sports are holier than thou. Like again, I love watching football but it's still But I do like like that like you know like during that time cuz I've dated real big sports and fanatics. Like I really do like that designated like I know we're going to be apart this time. Like I know you're going to be on the couch and I'm going to be a bedroom. Yeah, I'm going to be reading. Your turn. Um this is my last one. He explains an exercise to you even though you're right you're a regular at this class and it's his first time there. Mhm. Yeah. That's so annoying. It's so annoying. I'll give it a four. I was saying four too. But I I also hate it. I've had it where I've just been minding my business at the gym and had like a man come up to me to try to like teach give me tips. Literally don't I have head over the ear headphones on. Do not talk to me. I don't need your tips. And why are you watching me, you [ ] creep? Do you ever Have you ever been hit on at the gym or asked on a date? Oh yeah. Yeah, me too. I don't love I don't love gym hit ons. No, it's like the like I want to do my own thing. Yeah, it's like not sexy and it's like but it's also kind of flattering because it's like if you can see me like with no makeup and like like this then imagine how you're going to feel once I get done. Well, it's probably because we're just like [ ] at the gym. Yeah, you look [laughter] you little vape [ __ ] Joe, have you ever hit on anybody at the gym?
No, that's not a place to do that. It's a great answer. Where's the place to do that? At the club. No, I don't know. I don't go to the club either. I don't know. I just anywhere but the gym. The gym is kind of like I I don't want people to come talk to me at the gym, you know? Like there's like a moment when you walk in where you say hi to the people you know. And once the headphones are on, you're lifting weights, you can go [ __ ] yourself, I'm kind of busy. That's just how I feel. I imagine everyone else feels the same way. with my whole chest. Yeah. Number five, he says you're too emotional during an argument but punched a hole in the wall when his football team lost? You did that as rage bait. Cuz like of course we're going to break up again. You keep making me dump all these guys. [laughter]
These are flaggy. I mean the whole point of it is like what level of flag, right? Yeah, a lot. I mean like he says I'm too emotional, he's punching a wall. Like go away, buddy. I know. I just want to once again a meathead? Oh, yeah. Like sports. Gross. I would have once again remind the taste buddies that anger is an emotion, so yeah. Yeah, and I choose happiness today. Yeah.
